Hi Paula

I bet you are really excited about your trip now! I think it is just the Donald fountain area that is shut at SSR. Not sure when the repairs will be complete. There isn't a kiddle pool as such but the main pool is zero entry and has a slide that my daughter loved (she was16 months) I think the pool is great for little ones so you should check it out anyway. When we were there in September lots of folks from OKW were there enjoying the pool. We got chatting to some great folk.

Have a fab trip!

mmm is right - even with Donald out of commision, there is plenty for younger ones to do at the SSR pool.

We love the Luna Park pool at BW. There is a shallow pool that is about 18" deep - my 2 year old could stand and run around great in there. In the bigger pool there is an elephant sprinkler that we played in, and my 4 year old DD loved the slide. It is one of the few you can ride while wearing a life vest.

I suggest going to the Polynesian it has a zero entry section and a great slide. Don't remember if there's a hot tub or not, but I think not. It also has a great beach so the little ones can play in the sand.

Have a great trip! :wizard:

POFQ - next door to OKW.

the slide here is very cute and made for children 7 and under.

Since the weather was perfect while we were there, we decided to try a couple, a day at TL - then we swam at CS - my DS 3 LOVED the slide there, and the following afternoon we tried the POLY - also a great slide, and the zero entry was a hit too.

We had a car so the hopping was easier then I expected - next trip, we will probably do it again.

Next on my list to try are BW and POR.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Paula,

Suggestion for next time. Try the pool at Grand Floridian (the one with the big rock mountain and waterslide-you can see it from the monorail). Zero depth entry pool for the kids and an incredible water slide. Great food poolside. We've been to most of them and it's second only to Stormalong Bay at Beach Club (IMHO)--I know you can't hop there (Stormalong)...that's why we added on points there. Hope you had a great trip.

No - the Swan/dolphin are not WDW resorts.

we can only pool hop to WDW resorts - with the exception of SALB and AKL - can't pool hop there period!!!

My kids adored the pool at the Poly, and we adults loved the atmosphere. It also gave us an excuse to ride the monorail! The zero entry was very nice, and they have a fountain play area that is a lot of fun for the littler kids. Have fun!

We really enjoyed CS's pool and slide too. We hopped there on our trip a few weeks ago. My DD4 really loved the slide. She also loves BWV's (so do I).

Question - for those of you who have pool hopped to Poly, did you call ahead? I would like to try out the Poly on next trip in early Feb.

:sad1: I hate to hear that we (DVC members) cannot pool-hop to Swan/Dolphin. I had never really thought about it until it happened that I could get some friends a room with teacher discount at the same time that we'll be staying at BCV. Of course, they cannot pool hop over where we will be, so I thought we could join them at "their pool".

I cannot believe that you could not join your friends as guests. I am 100% sure there will not be a problem.

We have brought guests to SAB with no problems either... and this is the strictest pool that I have ever heard about. One night, we had about 7 guests who were staying at an off-site condo, and the SAB people had no problem with us bringing them in as guests... since we were staying at the resort.

If you get additional rooms keys, you should be able to bring your guests in. When we were at BCV, we were told that we could bring as many as the room would allow. And that if we wanted to bring more - we would have to check with the lifeguards. If the pool is at capacity, then they probably wouldn't allow non-keyed guests. It wouldn't be fair to the guests staying there.

So, I'm not 100% sure like the prior poster, just sure that if there is room and/or you have a room key for them that they could come with you.

And I'm told the S/D pools aren't much anyway. I've walked by the Swan going to the minigolf and it's just a pool. Didn't see a slide. It was rectangular, no theming in sight etc.

Kathleena,

When I said that I was 100% positive they would not have a problem... it was in regard to joining them over at the Swan/Dolphin. I think that any guest could just go over there, and I saw no signs of any checking room IDs. Even if they did... the vast majority of hotels will allow guests to join room occupants... and I am certain there would be no problem going to the S&D pools as guests.

/Jim

:D Thanks for the responses. I would definitely rather stay at SAB and will check into the possibility of my guests (3) joining us there. If that is not possible it is good to know that we can join them at S/D. It's a kid thing - just want to do the pools together!

My favorite pool to hop to is the big one at Coronado Springs. I really like that pool for some reason!
