Which Polynesian room should I request?

I know there has been so many questions about which longhouse to request. I also know you are not guaranteed anything. I need your advice though.

We stayed in Tokelau last time, and it was a convenient and quiet location. We overlooked the quiet pool. Although I liked this, I think I want to try another longhouse this time.

I had decided, based on many posts a few months ago, to request Samoa 3rd floor facing the volcano pool. I have a 3 and 5 year old and thought this would be a great location, especially since I may be able to have a partial view of the fireworks.

Now I'm reading new posts about Fiji. I love the fact that it has newly remodeled rooms and is by the Luau and marina. Since we go to bed kind of early, I'm worried that Fiji may be too loud. However, I have a sound machine that drowns out noise, so maybe this should not be a worry. It would be cool to see the tiki torches, Luau and marina.

Can you experienced Polynesian guests give your opinion on which longhouse/floor/etc... please? Once again, I know this is only a request, and there are no guarantees. I definitely want a balcony so that my DH and I can sit out if the kids go to sleep early. Thanks so much! :flower:

As you've mentioned, there are merits to most of the longhouses.

We enjoy the Samoa, ground floor, looking at the Volcano Pool. The last three trips to the Poly when we have stayed in a GV room, we've had this location and simply love it. (In or around room #1608)

Great atmosphere, view, 20 steps to the pool, close to the GCH, close to the Beach. Just fantastic!

Good Luck!

So you prefer the ground floor to the 3rd floor? I think I had decided to ask for 3rd floor in case I could see the fireworks. Maybe the ground floor would be more convenient. Can you see the fireworks at all? I guess you could just walk out if necessary though.

We love the ground floor. The ease to walk out the patio door to the pool, beach, GCH, etc. is wonderful for us. (Of course if everyone leaves, one of us locks the sliding door and exits via the room door). I've read that others prefer the third floor with good reasons. We also enjoy sitting on the patio and "Soaking" up the atmosphere, which includes for us, people watching at the pool and the walkway.

As I recall, we were not able to directly view the Fireworks from our patio. However, by walking literally 10 feet onto the lawn outside our room, or to the beach, you have a direct view of them. :goodvibes

I have stayed in Tahiti (Ground floor, LV) 3 times. I much prefer the ability to walk out the door and be on the beach instead of walking down hallways, ect. Tahiti can seem a bit removed from everything, I'll see where I end up this Dec.
