I am interested in renting points. While reading the board, I've noticed some points are not good at DVC locations, only resorts. Are any points good at DVC locations? Or does a DVC Member need to make reservations for me? May I rent DVC points to use at a World Passport Location? I am also wonderig if DVC locations are particularly hard to book in May/June? Thanks, in advance for your help.

The easiest way to rent points is for DVC locations. The only time anyone would have points only available for other WDW resorts would be if they had to cancel a ressie late, and could only use those points from a Disney exchange.

Yes, all transactions must be made with a member making the reservation. I am not sure World Passport destinations would be worth the hassle for you.

May/June would not be hard to get as long as it isn't last minute, and depending on the location you wanted.

Points, themselves, are useless to anyone but a DVC member- as only members can make a reservation with points.

You will actually be renting a reservation made using the points. The member will have to make the reservation in your name.

If you see a listing offering "Reservation Points", those points are the only ones that cannot be used at a DVC Resort.

With any reservation, you should have an idea what the reservation would cost directly thru Disney before agreeing to anything with a member. (In some cases, you will find the same room for less thru Disney.)

You can use the point calculator on this site to get an idea how many points are needed for a reservation, but only the member can actually use those points.

renting points for any non-DVC resorts is going to cost alot more points (money) than a DVC resort.

OKW studio - sun-thurs 10 points per night

Poly garden view - sun-thurs 38 points per night

Cont garden standard view - sun-thurs 29 points per night

all the moderates - POR/POFQ/CBR/CSR - standard view - 15 points per night

BCV/VWL/BWV (pref) - studio - sun-thur 13 points per night

see you can get a studio at any DVC resorts for less points (money) than a moderate - they are much, much better than a moderate.
