Hi all!

I'm mostly a lurker who tries to find answers to questions by reading lots of threads, but I have questions and figure this is the best way to get them answered. :)

We're going to Disney in September for 4 days (I know, not long enough ;) ) with our 2yr old. We'll have 3 day base tickets so I'm trying to figure out what parks we should go to with my son. We plan to go to a park the day we arrive (it's a short flight from PA to Orlando so we'll have most of the day to go somewhere) but I'm not sure where we should go.

Should we go to MK for 2 days, or is 1 day enough?

Between MGM/DHS and Animal Kingdom which is better for a 2yr old? My son is an avid Playhouse Disney watcher so I think he'd enjoy MGM for those shows, but I'm not sure if it's worth a whole day. :confused3

Thanks for any help!!! :goodvibes

I think 2 days is MK would be great! My kids were almost 4, 2.5 and 12 months when we went in Oct and really enjoyed MK the most.

As for which other park to go to, MGM was fun for the characters (saw Buzz, Woody, Lightning McQueen, Kim Possible, Power Rangers), they really liked the Muppet 3D show, we went to playhouse disney and saw Choo Choo Soul (which they loved!). We also had lunch at Hollywood & Vine with Leo, June, Jo Jo and Goliath which they loved (lots of character interaction and dancing).

AK was also fun, but it didn't seem as though we did as much there as we did at MGM. Plus, in Oct it was still soooo hot and muggy, it really drained all of us.

We went back to the room everyday for a nap (which we all needed, lol) and then would head back to the park (we didn't have hopper passes either) for dinner and more fun.

Hope you have a great time! Oh, we're in PA too (WB/Scranton) area!

Hi! Doing 2 days at the MK and 1 day at MGM would probably be your best bet with the base tickets (Park hopping with a toddler is not a good thing...LOL) This way you wouldn't feel as you had to "Go Commando-style".:lmao: If you are staying on property then you can take advantage of the early arrival time for little ones where they open up Fantasyland early for them. My DGC LOVE:dance3: that part where they can get their fill of riding Peter Pan, Small World and Dumbo before the huge crowds arrive and it is takes longer to get on them. We have gone on the rides multiple times...come off of one to jump right on the other. Nana

I also agree with the 2 days in MK and 1 in DHS plan. We went in December for 9 days and our two year old really loved MK and DHS. His favorite attraction hands down was the Muppet 3D Movie!

Oh and don't skip the Lights Motors Action show... ds also adored that as well!

My nearly 2 dd recently loved the AK. She knows the main disney characters but loves animals so they were a big hit. We found that there wasn't enough for her to do at DHS.
Definitely 2 days at MK though!! We rode that carousel over and over!!!

We went in September with our 3 year and old and 1 year old daughters. 2 days at MK is definitely worth it. Our daughter loved DHS because of Playhouse Disney, but that was really all she liked. I personally love DHS. A lot of my friends with kids that age said they liked Animal Kingdom better for their kids. It depends on what your children are interested in.

My son was 2 when we took him to WDW for the first time in September 2007. He really liked MK and Animal Kingdom. At Animal there is the 3D bugs life that he really liked, and the Finding Nemo show. He also like the Safari, and the Lion King show.

We prefer DHS. My kids love the characters and the shows and can do Star Tours over and over. It also has, IMHO, the best parade. However, you know your child best. I really just wanted to say that if you do AK, be careful the 3D movie, It's Tough To Be A Bug. It scared the tar outta my kiddos. My youngest is fearless, but she wouldn't do another 3D movie for several months (or more) after that one. A friend's dd had a panic attack in it as well. These are kids that LOVE ToT and RnRC, so they are not timid kids.

I now there are also those that love it, but just maybe try to check it out first or ask around to see what some others think of this one as well. That is if you go to AK.

I'm sure that no matter what park you pick, you will find lots to do!:) I will say though, when my son was 2, his favorite ride, hands down was the safari at AK. He also really enjoyed the Maharajah Jungle Trek.

Thank you so much everyone!!

I think we're leaning more towards DHS at this point. DH thinks AK will be too hot to enjoy in September. If I didn't have to make ADR's I'd leave it to last minute and we'd see what we thought as the time approached.

I really appreciate all the input everyone! This is such a great board :goodvibes :goodvibes
