Which park would you go to?

During our trip in January, we are planning to meet up with some friends on our first full day in Orlando. They would come into town to meet us there, and were willing to go to a Disney park if we wanted (I think they must have resident passes). I'm trying to get an idea of which park it would be best to plan to go to. I'm kind of leaning toward MGM or Magic Kingdom, but am having trouble deciding (or maybe we should just stay at the All-Star Movies...).

Here are some details:
1) We're looking more for a park to go to and hang out/visit in. Maybe do a few rides/events, but mainly get a chance to talk. I think we'll have time to go to see all the parks (1 day each, with 2 days at MK) on our own.
2) Both families have 1 kid each - about 4 y.o. (so not big enough to go off on their own!) We would want to go somewhere that they could play a bit or do something while the adults visited (or maybe one adult did something with them). I think most parks, except Epcot, have a playground of sorts, right?
3) In favor of MGM: This day happens to be the last day that the Osborne lights are up at MGM. So, if we were going to see them, that would be the only time we could go. Are the lights worth it? Also, if we sat around for Fantasmic (if our friends could stay), it might give the adults a chance to talk. Plus, if we saw any of MGM, it would make it easier to see the rest on our single day.
4) In favor of MK: This will be our first day there, and it seems like going to MK might be a better way to "start." My daughter (who has never been to WDW) might be expecting to see the castle (and maybe Mickey). It seems like there might be more to do for the kids there, also. We'll probably go to MGM on Monday, so if we don't see MK this day, it won't be until later.
5) In favor of Epcot: Test track closes the next day for refurbishment, so if we want to ride, this is the only day. My wife and I have been on it before, and enjoyed it, and I think my daughter would like it, but this doesn't seem like as big of a deal.
6) In favor of AK: Can't really think of anything that would make AK a particularly good choice.
7) We could stay at our hotel (AS Movies), or go somewhere else in Orlando, but this seems like it might get old after a couple of hours. But, if you have other options I might want to consider, let me know!
8) Oh, this also happens to be the day of the marathon, if that matters. It will be a Sunday, and we'll probably not go to any parks until after church/lunch.

Sorry to go on so long, but I'd really like to hear any opinions on which place might be best to go to. Thanks!
