We are headed to the Royal Pacific, spending the night on July 30th. We have a 2 day pass, 1 park per day. Our family is me, DH, DD 4.5 and DD 20 months. Which day do you think will be better to go to UOA and use our early access, check-in or check-out day? I think we can handle getting up early for Harry Potter, but I worry that we may need a mid-day break and not have anywhere to go if we do it on RP check-out day? OTOH, will it be too hard to get our butts in gear to be out of the other hotel (Homewood Suites by Universal) for RP check-in (even without room access) before 7AM?! WWYD? thanks!

We are doing the same exact thing except we will be driving in on July 30 so we will be using our early entry on check out day. Looking at the ages of your kids...I would do check out day. It would be hard to get up and checked out of your other hotel and make it for a 7 am early entry on July 30.

We were just there in May and had a 30 minute wait at the Forbidden Journey at 11:00 on Sunday - The crowds throughout both parks were lighter on Sunday.

I haven't looked up what days of the week these are, but I agree you don't want to try and do early entry on the day of check-in. It obviously makes more sense from a logistics standpoint to do it the morning you are already there.

Don't forget there are other attractions in IoA than just WWoHP. You can easily spend a full day at IoA, especially at that time of year. You can do a mid-day break (without naps ;)) in the Jurassic Park Discovery Center, a large indoor air-conditioned space with a few things to see.

Agree also that the noted trend is that Sundays are the lightest day of any normal weekend in general. Don't know enough yet with WWoHP how well this holds true in the summer peak season.
