I am probably overthinking this but what is the strategy for picking which park to start at? We are staying onsite so should we go to the Early Entry park? Or do you go against the trend and visit the other park and avoid crowds? We will be there May 13-17, first time visitors. The crowd level calendars vary greatly from site to site. Some showing crowd levels at a 7/10; some show crowds of 3/10. We do have park to park tickets.

I have MS and the heat can really zap me. The temps are running higher than "normal" for this time of year so I will probably go back to the room for afternoon breaks. If I can make the visit more efficient by choosing the right park, I'd love that!

TIA!

Really depends on what your priority is and whether or not you have express passes.

If you really want to ride the Harry Potter rides, then visit the parks that have EE on any given day first because that is the area you are given early access to and you will find the crowds are lower than at other times of the day.

If you don't really care about Harry Potter, then it doesn't really matter. Express Passes (if you have them) will give you a lot of flexibility to come and go between the parks and the hotel as you feel up to it.

We often start in the park that closes first and then we can take a break and head back to the park that is open late, later in the day/evening.

We will be visiting the parks Sunday May 14 - Wednesday May 17.
We are staying at Portofino Bay and will have the unlimited express passes.
Yes, big Harry Potter fans.

With express pass you'll cover a lot of ground. Since you mention you also need cool down breaks I'd suggest going to EE park, riding Harry Potter stuff and exploring that park until you need a break. Then go back to the other park once the day cools down. I've found the Harry Potter areas clear out a lot in the evenings. It's really easy to get back and forth from your hotel on the boat so it's not too daunting to take hotel breaks.
