Which park to visit first?

If we are scheduled to check in on Sunday, and we arrive EARLY Sunday morning can we go to a park BEFORE checking into our hotel? Then go back to the hotel around 3-4pm to check in?

THEN which park is the least crowded on a Sunday? We're thinking either Animal Kingdom OR MGM but wasn't sure which one to pick from.

I know I want to check the schedule for WISH and Fantasmic so we can do those on those nights (dh is being cheap and refusing to do the park hopper option :rolleyes2 )

Any help is appreciated. This is our first trip to Disney and we want it to be great for our kids.......may be the only time we can afford to take them.

If you're staying on property at a Disney hotel then I would advise you to go ahead and check in as soon as you arrive. If your room isn't ready you can store your luggage at the hotel, get your park passes and take Disney transportation to the park you wish to go to. Then come back later in the day and your room will be ready. There is always the possiblity that it will be ready first thing as soon as you check in and if it is then you're already set.

Wow, really?

We're driving so it won't be a big deal if we have our luggage in our van.

we figured we do all or our driving on Saturday, stay somewhere offsite that night then go over to our resort, parks, etc. on Sunday. Reading that check in time was 3-4pm we just figured we'd have to wait to get our room.

I agree with jrasmom. It makes it much easier to just check-in first. It's a real plus if your room is ready, but if not, they store your stuff for you and off you go for a magical day. It's great and we have done it many times. pixiedust:

So...after checking in which park do you think would be less crowded?

MGM or Animal Kingdom on a Sunday, late September
