I know all you Disers will steer me in the right direction. My husband and I :lovestruc and 2 girls (ages 11 and 12) are coming to Orlando for Spring break. I won one of the vouchers so all I need is to buy 3 more tickets. :wizard: Where is the least expensive place to purchase these tickets? :rolleyes1

We have never been to Universal Studios and didn't realize there is more than one park. :confused3 How does this work and do you buy tickets to each park? Which park would you go to if you only had one day?:surfweb:

i can't answer without knowing more.

are there any ride types you and the family will not do?
do you like rides that have height, coasters, etc?
do you enjoy the live shows?

are your kids tall enough for most of the rides?

there is no way i could choose which park to do.
heck, i have problems when i only stay 4 days in the parks of taking it all in.

let us know more about your plans and types of rides you enjoy so we can help better.

If I could put it in comparison to WDW, we love Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash and Space Mountain, Haunted mansion, pirates and jungle cruise. AT MGM we love Star Tours, Tower of Terror and the shows (not a big fan of Rockin Roller Coaster as it goes upside down) we love Epcot both the world showcase and all of the sea, land, SOURIN IS MY FAVORITE. :thumbsup2 We like Animal Kingdom Yettie, and the dinosour ride. The shows are great at every park.

My girls can ride all of the rides above so I think they will meet the height restriction. They are small for their ages in comparison to other 6th and 7th graders. Lets face it mom is only 5ft 3 and hubby is only 5ft 5. They don't come from tall genes. ;)

Is this the type of info you are looking for?

I would buy a 1 day 2 park ticket...both parks have things you really shouldn't miss:

IOA: Dueling Dragons coasters, Hulk and we like Suess Landing.

Studios: Mummy coaster, MIB, Simpsons and we like T2 3D....and Rip Ride Rockit is coming in the spring! (not sure when you're going)

There are also shows and other attractions you would all like...it's tough to pick just 1 park!

i don't know if they would enjoy dueling dragons as it does have a loop to it.
it has more height to it than R n R coaster does.

most of us that like coasters really enjoy dd ride.

a fun thing at IOA is Mystic Fountain.
it is a concrete fountain that is located outside of the Sinbad show.

it is wired and the fountain "talks" to people.
sometimes it brings "showers" to those near it.

i can spend an hour watching this and the interactions the people have with it.

go to this site:

http://www.universalorlando.com/amusement-parks/theme-park-overview.html

you will obtain a lot of info about each ride

Try your AAA office (if you're a member) or the Universal site. (call and ask about the special like macraven said)

I checked undercovertourist...$100 for an adult...NOT cheaper than UO site!

The voucher you won is for a 7 day, 2 park pass. Universal web site - www.universalorlando.com, under park tickets list all the different tickets that can be purchased and prices. A little cheaper to buy on-line than at the parks. Undercovertourist also sells the 1 day/1park tickets and the 7 day, 2 park ticket you will have from your voucher at a bit of a discount than buying directly from Universal. Also, Mousesavers.com is now listing under its Universal portion of its web site some discounted ticket options through ticketmaster. You need to purchase with a promo code, and mousesavers provides the link to get to the ticketmaster site. If you can not go for two days, I would check Universal's web site to look at the rides/attractions at each park & decide if you want to pick one park over the other or try to do some of both parks in one day.

Undercovertourist prices includes the tax and shipping costs by regular mail, so its prices have to be compared to Universal's prices after you add taxes and shipping costs.

Our AAA office has the 7 day 2 park unlimited admission tickets for $99.

Your children are at the perfect age to enjoy US/IOA. I would plan three days there. One day for each park and then another day to go back and see/do anything you missed or re-ride your favorites. If you're staying on-site and time is tight you can easily do a park a day with front of the line access.

I'm a certified ride chicken and definitely can't do any big roller coasters. Having said that, I've ridden everything in Universal and the only things I've skipped at Islands of Adventure is Hulk, Dueling Dragons, Dr. Doom and the spinning ride next to Hulk (think teacups). I can do everything else.

Make sure you see the Hollywood Horror Make Up show at Universal. I think its one of the best shows I've seen in a theme park.

You don't have to have them shipped if you purchase them online. You can do electronic pick up at the kiosk at the entrance to the park.

We did this last year when I bought an AP online for my Mom. Just be sure to bring the same credit card you purchase the tickets online with to swipe at the kiosk...or, you'll have to stand in line at the entrance to the park at GS with your receipt to obtain your tickets.

Electronic pickup is the way to go....tickets are already there waiting for you ... no forgetting them or losing them....OR paying shipping :thumbsup2
