Which park should we do? AK or MK

We are going to Orlando for one day during a trip to the Tampa area the first week of March. We are considering Animal Kingdom or Magic Kingdom. Our son is 6, and we went to Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Epcot when he was 3 (almost 4). The only park we haven't done is Animal Kingdom, which is why we are considering it, but I wonder if Magic Kingdom would be a better option.

I know this will come down to personal preference, but which do you think would be the better option for a 6 year old?

MK for a one day trip... can't beat the castle!

AK is a huge construction wall right now. I would pick MK. We were there in October, and really felt that the construction walls detracted from the AK experience. Based on recent photos, it doesn't appear as if it has improved since then, and it may even be worse. Here are some recent photos:

Rain sleet or dark of night...Magic Kingdom is always a winner...we could, and usually do, spend our vacation there....

We actually never go to AK, just not a fan of its intensions, layout or theme....

If your child is really into animals, I would choose AK since you have not done it. If not, then he might have more fun at MK but please do plan to go to AK someday to form your own opinions about the experience. I love AK. I find it a peaceful place amongst all the chaos that is Disney

We have been every other year with our kids and MK at 3 is VERY different than it at 6. Pirates of Caribbean, Astro Orbiter, roller coasters, things that a 3-4 year old would have been less likely to do are now open to him, even getting jungle cruise jokes.

I would for sure do MK as it is to me the home base that means Disney to most children more than any other park.
