Which Park on New Years Day?

Planning to be at the World January 1st week, and wonder which park would be the easiest to navigate on New Years Day. Obviously MK wouldn't be the one. New Years Day is on a Monday, and that appears to be EMH for AK and MGM, so guess that leaves Epcot, right? Any advice appreciated ... thanks!

We went for that same week this past year. We arrived around noon on Jan 1st and made it to the parks by about 3. We decided to go to Epcot. The crowds there were pretty manageable. The lines weren't too bad, except of course for Soarin'.

Actually we went to the MK on New Years Day this year and the morning was great! We were there at opening (I think 8:00 am) and the park was very slow for the first few hours. We were able to do a lot. By noon it was pretty busy but then we started using the fastpasses we had picked up in the morning and we went on less popular rides. By about 5:00 we had had enough of the crowds and headed to Epcot. We thought that MK would only get busier because it was the EMH night. Epcot was fine, we really didn't do too much because the kids had run out of steam. The next day while on a bus to a park, we spoke with a man who said that the MK was great in the evening, very little waits. Too bad we didn't just stay put. If I could do it all over I would go to the MK early in the morning, take an afternoon break, go back for an early dinner (5:00) and stay for the evening.

We went to Epcot on New Year's Day and my daugher-in-law said "where the heck is everyone". Felt like a ghost town. A few years before that, we went to Animal Kingdom and that was deserted. Of course, it was raining sideways (seriously, it was) but we enjoyed the park anyway.

We have done MK and Epcot both on New Years Eve on different years. As long as you are prepared for crowds, you will be fine. MK reached capacity fairly early in the day. I don't know if Epcot did or not. We continued to ride the rides and just enjoy both parks. I would suggest MK just for the experience of spending New Year's Eve there but if your leary head on over to Epcot. Regardless, you will have fun.
