Which park for Sat Afternoon?

Our first day at the parks will be a Sat afternoon. Does anyone have advice on which park would be the best for that time? We are staying a week and will have 5 -day park hoppers. I'm not sure if we should go to the parks that late on a Sat or just hang out at the pool the first day. Thanks!

A park it would be Epcot.I think though I might go to DTD and have a nice dinner and shop.The rest of time egt unpacked and enjoy my resort pool and sunbathe.Get a good night's rest and hit MK early Sunday morning.

I would stay at your resort and relax then head to the parks on Sunday. We love having our first day as a relaxing day, recovering from travel and getting settled into our resort.

your responses! We are still undecided. On the one hand it might be better wait until Sun morning to go to a park since Sat afternoon will probably be crowded. But this is our first trip to Disney and I don't know if we can wait another day! LOL
If we decide to go, would Epcot be the park that might be less crowded on Sat afternoon then? We are going in October.

You can have lots of fun just riding the monorail around the resorts and out to EPCOT and back. You can also ride the big paddlewheel boat over to the Magic Kingdom. Make reservations to have dessert at the Calif. Grill for the time of the MK fireworks. Also watch the Water Parade from the roof of the Calif. Grill rest.[ Cont. Resort] Considering that you will be there a full week and the cost to enter the park I would save my hopper passes for a full day of enjoyment. There are also fun things to do at Downtown Disney, Boardwalk or Pleasure Island. All of these suggestionns are free except for the cost of the dessert [split one] or if you wish to enter the clubs on Pleasure Island. Pleasure Island does a New Year's Celebration everynight at midnight with fireworks, etc. You will want to get tickets for MNSSHP at the MK and enjoy the food & wine festival at EPCOT since you are going in Oct.

If I were going to use one of the days on my park hoppers, I would go to the park that was open the latest. I would also try to schedule a park that had a parade, fireworks or evening show. I personally am too cheap to use one of the days on my passes for a partial day though and would probably opt to relax at my hotel or stroll around Downtown Disney.

Epcot always seems empty to us on Saturday afternoon.

Avoid the MK, its disastrously crowded on saturdays....deadly crowded...

We only went to MGM once on a saturday and it was much more crowded than epcot...

we tend to always go to epcot on saturdays....

I would go to epcot on a Saturday, it seems to be the least crowded. We have never had any luck going to Magic Kingdom on a Saturday. I always go and usually leave after the 1st hour. I really don't like it when it is that crowded. We went on a Saturday in Feb and people that were there told us that it was worse than Christmas day.

My first thought was to say Epcot, but if it's a Saturday evening in October the Food and Wine Fest will be going on. Does anyone know if that will make Epcot really crowded?

If you don't have UPH or APs I wouldn't use a day off my ticket for only a couple of park hours. How about riding the monorail and dinner? Watch MK fireworks from one of the area resorts? Downtown Disney? A character dinner to get in the spirit?

Not the MK...it is usually quite crowded on the weekend.

I would say Epcot or MGM,as they cover a fairly large area so there is more room for crowds to disperse.
