I'm planning a beginning of october trip to Disney and Universal. I'll be staying on site for both. I have been waffling back and forth on this so I'm trying this board and the Disney Theme Park board for viewpoints. Am I better going to Disney 1st (Sat. & Sun. with MNSSHP), then Universal (Mon. & Tues.) or Universal 1st (Sat. & Sun), then Disney (Mon. & Tues. with MNSSHP).

hi
we have gone in may and done universal first / then disney and i prefer it.

when you stay at universal on site you have fotl all day everyday....this way we can go on rides over and over again without having to wait in long lines.....then when we get to disney kids are happy w/ one time on tea cups since we've done storm force and we can do dumbo once since we did 1 fish 2 fish too many times. ....and if we only get 1 fast pass for rock n roll its ok because we've done mummy and hulk and fire and ice...sooo many times....

Then when we get to disney we can enjoy the charachters and be more patient standing in lines because everyone has been on lots of rides already.

You do get spoiled w/ fotl but there is the magic of disney .... we love both....that said...in october i don't think you have to worry to much crowds should not be bad.

have fun.

We did this last December. We stayed at Disney AKL first and ended at HRH at Universal. We enjoyed doing it this way for a couple of reasons. First, it was nice to get to Universal and no longer have to stand on lines! Second, we consider Universal to be more laid back and relaxing, instead of running from one ride/show/attraction to another. Transportation is much easier to navigate at Universal. At Disney it seems we were always hurrying up to wait some more. We never had any down time when we were at Disney. So my second reason was that we could have time at the pool during the day easily. We liked ending the vacation on a relaxed note. This worked out best for our family.

Most will tell you to do Disney first, then Universal staying on site.
You get to bypass the lines at the end of your trip.

Nevermind the kids, I was doing the whining at WDW this year. YES, you do get really spoiled with FOTL access. I strongly urge you to "do" Universal second. Don't get me wrong, I believe in the Magic at WDW, but it's hard to beat the FOTL perc.
