Hello, everyone! I was wondering if you all could give me suggestions. I'm looking for a Vera Bradley bag to carry to parks. I used the hipster, but I'm looking for something a bit different to hold my camcorder/camera, park essentials, etc. There are so many bags, I just can't decide! I know there is a Vera Bradley thread around here somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. I'd greatly appreciate all the rec's!

:thumbsup2

I was going to try using a Hipster for the camera, camcorder, etc next time. Do you think it wouldn't be big enough? I have a Vera Bradley cargo style bag that I've used and it's big enough but a little bit too big. I was hoping I could size down to the hipster next time. My camera isn't huge but it isn't tiny either. Camcorder is about the same size as the camera.

i've always taken the mini hipster, but i asked for the hipster for valentine's day. (and a jewelry box and a curling iron cover :rotfl:) i felt like i needed a bigger bag for days where we are more commando style and don't go back to the resort as often.

have you thought about going backpack style?

I got the hipster on the recommendation of the Dis. I found it to be too small! I was with friends so I wasn't carrying anyone else's stuff.

It doesn't fit a bottle of water AND my camera (mid size- not compact) AND my sunglasses. While I don't carry the water all day, I like to have a place to put the bottle so I don't have to drink it all at once.

I swear by my baggallini messenger. The strap hits my chest in the same spot and I find it more comfortable.

Baggallini Messenger bag!!!!! It's 1 strap like the hipster but it's bigger (smaller than a regular backpack though).

I love mine because I can swing it around to the front to access any pocket I need without taking it off which is a huge perk while you are walking.

For size comparison, I was able to squeeze a rolled up fleece into the Baggallini without much room in the main compartment. I was able to stick my camera on top and put everything else in other compartments (sunglasses etc).

I used a Vera Bradley "large backpack" on my last trip. They aren't making them any more, but have a few colors on clearance. I don't have enough posts to add a link, but just search "large backpack" at the Vera Bradley site.

It has side pockets for water bottles and easily fit a few snacks, my DSLR camera, wallet, and even a hoodie when it was time to take off a layer in the afternoon. It was kind of a pain to take on and off all the time, but it's great if you need to haul stuff around. I'm doing the opposite this time since no kids are tagging along, just bringing a small p&s camera and using the hipster. :)
