I am trying to plan a basic layout of what we want to accomplish on our next trip. Because my DS will require naps in the early afternoon fitting parades into our schedule will require some pre-planning. I don't think we will be able to get more than 2 parades in during our stay. I know we want to catch the MK afternoon parade but I don't know which of the other two afternoon parades would be better: MGM or AK? I have not seen either one so I don't know anything about them. DS will be around 18-19 months old and he LOVES music - which would be better for him? Will one of them require a much longer wait to get a decent seat?

Thanks!

I'd definatly go with Mickey's Jammin Jungle Parade in Animal Kingdom. The music is great, and everyone in the parade is dancing around.

I havent seen the parade in AK but I can tell you that the MGM parade is my favorite as well as my 2 sons...you get to see characters that are not normally out...

Hercules & Meg
Lilo & Stitch
Playhouse Disney
Mary Poppins & Bert
Pain & Panic
Star Wars
Kermit & Miss Piggy

And they all ride in themed cars....very fun

For music and visuals for your son's age, I would go to the AK Jammin Jungle Parade

Thanks

Another vote for the Jammin Jungle Parade. This is definitely my favorite!!!

Another vote for AK. This is a really cool parade with great floats. Lot's of larger than life animals in funky colors and music that gets you moving. You can also get a seat in the shade easily if you hit the end of the parade route. It goes in a circle ending up where it begins right by the safari entrance. If you grab a seat by flights of wonder you are on the tail end of the parade but there are no crowds.

My vote is for AK

Not even close

Personally, I would go with MGM. I love the theme of it being an old-fashioned Hollywood cavalcade and there are lots of characters. However, having seen both, I would probably pick the Jammin Jungle Parade at AK if I was traveling with young kids. Lots of bouncy and catchy music, dancing, whimsical animal puppets, and Mickey and friends in their own Jumgle Jeeps. It's cute, colorful and possibly the best in the entire WDW for kids of that age group.

They are both great, but my heart belongs with Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade. Love the colors, costumes, music, and puppets!

AK without a doubt. My DW hates parades but after I "forced" her to watch the AK one, she said she absolutly loved it!!!!!!!!!

Maybe I caught a bad day at the Animal Kingdom but I didnt really think it was that great or had that many characters that a child would recognize....it seemed to be more of a showcase of the families that were picked to be in it ....there were alot compared to other parades I have seen. Seating for this parade was alot easier than for the one at MGM.

MGM's Motorcade was a delight - I absolutely loved seeing the characters. Even my children were delighted with the pictures I took (this was a girls only trip). Seating was more difficult here though.

We love Mickey's Jammin Jungle Parade at AK. We won't miss it. It is very colorful with great music. And those stilt walkers just amaze me every time I see them!! :Pinkbounc

No contest. The AK parade was as much of pleasant surprise as the MGM motorcars was a disappointment. In fact, AK parade is now my favorite in all of WDW!

Another vote for the Jammin' Jungle Parade. Not only do I think it's more exciting for young kids, but my DH and I also enjoyed it very much - much more so than the MGM parade. Our DD (3 1/2 at the time) loved it, too! It was more interesting to her than the old-fashioned "glamour" of the Stars and Motorcars Parade, although she liked that one, too. :D
