I am starting to run into a problem with clothes for my ds4! He is 43 inches tall and around 40 pounds. He has a thin waist. I am buying him size 5 pants because he fits in the range but they look baggy. I am using the cinch waist but he finds some uncomfortable. Help...any moms out there run into this problem?? Suggestions??

I buy from Land's End. They have Little Kid (size 4-7) slim sizes too. I find that even the slims can be baggy sometimes (my oldest is super skinny!) but it's the best I've found.

It's frustrating when you go to stores and the pants are sooooo wide! Even on my not-so-skinny other sons, they are wide. Not everyone is so, um, "thick" in the middle, ugh!

Sorry, needed to rant I guess. lol Good luck!

I am sorry to not know the name brand, but Kohl's sells slims that are SLIM!

My son was nearly 5' tall at 8 years old. He might have weighed 75 lbs. BEAN POLE! I loved Kohl's slim pants!

We had the exact same problem. I spent years trying to find pants that fit my skinny man! :-) We have finally settled on Gap's slim pants, and are happy. Now I don't even mess around - if he needs pants, I'm off to The Gap!

FYI - the Gap slims also use the elastic cinch system, but my DS6 has never complained. Yet. :-)

Sears had nice slim pants in the little boys sizes that really were slim, unfortunately when they move into big boy sizes they aren't the same! I just bought a pair of Cherokee jeans at Target this weekend in a slim that actually were slim, unfortunately they only had 1 pair of 10 slim in the store. Land Ends are nice but pretty pricey for school pants that they will be putting a hole in the knee after 1 wearing if your luck is running bad! My Ds is swimming in the 10 slim and I am not looking forward to the 12's because the 10's are barely long enough but I can't find 12's that aren't falling off him. At least now most have the adjustable waists a couple of years ago they were hard to find. It is hard as they get older and more picky

I had the same problem and I found two brands that fit my son well. 1. Lee jeans from Kohls in 5 slim and 2. Old Navy 5T. He sems to like the old navy ones better and they fit him better as well He has complained about the adjustable waist on the Lee pants several times.

BTW- he is 4 and is about 43 inches and 38 pounds. Hope this helps.

If the Land's End aren't skinny enough (and they weren't for my stick boys), try the adjustable waist jeans/pants from Old Navy. Their waists cinch up more.
I ordered them from the website.

DS8 is super skinny (he's around 52 in and 50 lbs). The jeans that fit him best are Old Navy slims with the adjustable waist.

For sweatpants/windpants, nothing fits, so my mom takes them in a bit on each side of the waist.

I wish I had the same problem...:sad2:

I make all my sons elastic waist pants, but I get slim jeans at Osh Kosh, also if you live near a western wear store, wrangler jeans are slimmer, they actually fit my 44inch, 46 lb. son very well.

My son is super skinny too. Old Navy jeans come in slims and have the waist adjuster. They also seem to run long which always helped my kids since they are very tall and very thin.

If I could only find sweatpants that come in a slim I'd be elated!

Old Navy has saved the day for us, my DS8 is tall and skinny. I buy the adjustable waist jeans in slim for him and they are great. When he was a bit younger we also would buy jeans for him from Lands End and they were great too.

DS7 is 54" tall and 55lbs, so also very skinny. Lee slims from Kohls fit him quite well. We also got some slims from Sears (Levis and Canyon River Blues) that are working well - they were 5.99 on clearance, plus covered by the KidVantage guarantee.

He likes his Lands End cargo pants but I find them to be too baggy looking.

Thanks for all the suggestions!! I just ordered old navy and gap slims. Gonna check out Kohl's soon too!!

My son is also very thin and Gap jeans are the ONLY ones he will wear.

I have a 53 inch tall 62 lb (and that was only after HUGE weight GAIN) 7 year old. He has worn Childrens Place jeans since he was tiny. It's all that fits him properly. He is now wearing a size 10 for length alone. The size 8 still fits his waist but they are now too short.

My ds is 4 & 40 inches & 35 lbs. I like the Children's Place jeans for him as well.

I have a terrible time finding my kids pants that fit well. I have found that the slim sizes in the Sonoma brand for boys sold by Kohls fits my very thin ds the best. They are often on sale for B1G1 and I stock up in his current size and the next because I'm afraid they will stop making them.
