We have an appointment for the BBB for the 45.00 package for next month for dd4. I see that the nails are press on nails (I thought they just painted her nails with nail polish). Now I am wondering if this middle level package is worth it or if she would be just be miserable with the nails popping off all evening? Anyone have any experience with this?

Also, I woudl really prefer that dd4 have the traditional princess look done to go with her dress for pictures at dinner. No offense to others, but I really don't like the "pop princess" look and really am not interested in having my daughter wall around with hair done in that style. Is it possible to reserve the style in advance so that we don't even get into this discussion?

I just accidentally erased a long post that I was going to leave! In short, don't do the nails, paint them before you go. Spend the money on something else! The press on ones were popping off all over the place.

Unless you are worried your daughter will try to pick something else, don't worry about telling them ahead of time. They will ask what you want but they don't pressure you one way or another. At least ours didn't.

My DD has done the middle package twice, it's lots of fun! She loved having her nails done - you can choose press-on or painted. My DD does painted, they let her choose the color and afterwards the bottle is put in the goody bag to take home with all the other makeup.

The first time we went they gave her both the nail polish and the press on nails to take home, but I don't remember if she got both in October so I'd say don't count on it.

Personally, I'd say do the nails just because I think it adds to the overall "pampering" effect and my DD really loved that part.

As to the hairstyle, I don't think they'll note that on the phone and even if they would I wouldn't count on the information to trickle down to the FGM. Tell the CM when you check in, and also try to tell the Fairy God Mother in Training when she comes to get your DD. If not, they will probably sit her down and show her the different hairstyle and then it will get difficult! The last time we went they made a big deal of going over the hairstyles with DD and letting her be in charge of the decision, and the whole time I was worried because she was meant to be Cinderella for MNSSHP that night so the only style that would go was the Fairytale style! As luck would have it, she chose that on her own. But, looking back, they really all do look cute!

Wait...do they not let you go with your child?????

Also can you do the 1st package and just buy a dress?? Or can you only get the dress w/ the "big" package??

Sorry for the hijack, I just didn't want to start a new thread on BBB.

Thanks.

You can bring your own dress, that is what we did. We bought the $45.00 package, but had them paint their nails instead of the press ons. They gave us a goody bag with the nails and the remainder of the makeup to take with us. This time i am buying the $35.00 package and just painting their nails on my own. It was worth the $10.00 extra for each child.
When you arrive, they give you a pamphlet with pictures of the different styles. I know there is a POP Princess, Diva Princess and a traditional princess style. The names may be different, but this is along the lines of what they offer. Both my daughters wanted the Pop Princess. One wanted it with rainbow colors and one wanted it with just lavender in her hair. Just tell them when you arrive that you want the traditional princess look with the crown. You should be all set. It is a really cute experience. A parent must be present at all times, however I don't think they allow your whole family because the space is limited. There is not alot of room in there. There is a photographer in there taking pics so you can give them your photopass or take your own.
I think that you can even book a photo session afterwards too. I didn't do it so i am not sure how that works or even where that is.
They do not wash your childs hair or even comb it so make sure hair is clean and brushed out beforehand.
We went when it first opened so things may have changed since.
Have fun!!!

I would paint her nails in advance and save $10. The girls around me had their nails painted at the same time as their make-over and I didn't think it was anything special. As for your selection of hair style, you should be able to tell your 4-year old DD that she's getting the Fairy Princess makeover and leave it at that. My 7-year old was a bit more opinionated and picked the Pop Princess. I think the Pop Princess and the Disney Diva looks better on older children.

Here's some pictures:

The girls can get press on nails or nail polish. And when you get to the door and check in for your appointment, just tell them you don't want choices given for the hairstyle and that you want the fairytale princess. They'll take care of it for ya!

You can buy a dress or do the smaller package and just add a dress. No problems. And you can go in with your princess.

My girls did the middle package last year and they had the choice of having their nails painted or the press on nails. One dd picked the nail polish and the other picked the press on nails - what a mess. We have so many princess dresses I just brought their dresses with them and changed them into it right before they went in. They liked it so much they're doing it again in July!

Any pictures of Disney Diva? I could see my 9 year old loving the Pop Princess(although I love the Disney princess- so sweet but 9 doesn't like sweet......)

Wow! Your little girl looks beautiful!

Mine picked the Pop Princess because she already has long hair. The DIsney Diva would be a great 'do for a girl with short hair.

I have a question about the photos...do you get the photos only if you get the package that includes it? (The most expensive one...)
If they do pictures for all the packages, do they have to do photos indiv. or can my two DDs do it together? I'd love to have some pictures of them together.

Are their dresses there you can just buy? My daughter wears a size 10 and I always have a hard time finding her the dresses.

Thank you. I agree but of course I'm biased ;) . Your daughter looks so adorable with the pop princess I tried to convince my daughter to go with that one but she insisted it, opininated at 6 I'm in trouble :) .

My other daughter wears a 10 normally and the large belle dress fit her perfectly.

We did the basic package for the princess 'do just last week on dd's 5th birthday. She had the time of her life! I wouldn't bother with the nails though. We brought her own dress and accessories, and they provide the tiara comb. You can most certainly go in with your child. I took lots of pictures and so did a Photopass photographer.

When we were done, we went over to "Guest Relations" where we were able to do a photo shoot with a Photopass photographer, though I had not previously arranged this. I was also allowed to take my own picts. Although we were not obligated to purchase anything, they came out so well that I spent about $22 on a special package for BBB clients (1 8x10 and 2 more smaller picts in different poses.)

Once we were through, we went over to the Grand Floridian for her birthday dinner with Cinderella and friends. Oh, and the hair stayed in overnight and through the next day. I''d say it was worth the $35!

Definitely do it! DD says this was one of her favorite parts of our trip. :cloud9:princess: All of the picts from our shoot were on the Photopass card. Here is a link to our picts as well as one for good measure!

You do not need to purchase the most expensive package to get the photos. You just walk over to photo place and it is on your photocard. You don't even need to purchase the photos. We ended up purchasing the CD.
I think they did a great job and we had about 20 pictures to choose from

Can I ask how much a dress would cost to add onto the basic package? :)

The dresses alone are about $60 in the World of Disney store. (IAnd frankly, they aren't that much nicer than what you'll find at Target/Walmart. ) The dress my dd is wearing a few posts above is from mydressuptrunk.com. It was about $25 and is nice and soft, not itchy like so many of the others.
