Unfortunately we are having to cancel one night of our trip which means we have one less credit on the dining plan. We are a group of 7, 4 of which are kids. Which ADR would you recommend cancelling?

We have:
50's Primetime Cafe
Ohana's (breakfast)
LeCellier
Chef Mickey's
Whispering Canyon Cafe
Coral Reef
Tony's Town Square
Planet Hollywood

Would love any advice! Thanks!

My recommendation would be Planet Hollywood. I've really never thought that DTD fit in well with the disney theme but that's just me. So for me, keep all the hotel and park restaurants but cancel PH.

I will give you my take on your choices.

50's Primetime Cafe: Not my favorite. We have eaten here twice. Neither time did it wow us. The food is just ok in my opinion. The experience with the wait staff varies.

Ohana's Breakfast with Lilo & Stitch: A MUST DO! We loved this. If you have a Stitch fan in the crowd, you have to go. The food was great.

LeCellier: Classy, good food, pricey, but a nice experience.

Chef Mickey's: You have to go to Chef Mickey's at least once in life. We did breakfast there in December. We have never done dinner, but I hear that it's pretty good stuff.

Whispering Canyon Cafe: We ate a dinner there a few years ago. It was good and the little kids had activities that kept them busy and happy. It was fun.

Coral Reef: I ate there 20 years ago. I remember the tank view was neat, but the food was ok, but not spectacular. The price was also up there.

Tony's Town Square: The service was great. The food was not as good as Olive Garden or Provino's. The fountain was neat.

Planet Hollywood: Neat decor, ok food, lousy service. We tried it three times and the experience never varied.

For me, I would be most likely to dump Planet Hollywood because the overall experience is the least lacking. From a money stand point, I would dump Coral Reef. From a food stand point, I would dump Tony's. Happy Planning. Maggie

EDITED: The $$$ factor certainly doesn't make a difference if you are using the MYW Dining plan, but for those that are paying OOP, I thought that I should include the $$$ factor in my choices.

Oh and one more thing, i think the other places are catered more towards kids than PH is.

I'd say either PH or Tony's. You can eat in a PH just about anywhere. As for Tony's, the reviews are decent, but it isn't anything you can't get in just about every big city. I'd stick with the choices that are more like Disney Experiences than just a meal.

She said she's on the DDP, so price doesn't matter. CR is a 1 credit restaurant so she can run up a $350 bill there and it won't cost her any more than a $200 bill at PH.

I'd dump PH for the reasons other posters already mentioned. My 2nd choice dump would be Tony's. We like it OK, but it's not a MUST do by any means.
To me, look at your schedule and where you think you'll be on the night in question. If an DTD meal would be more convenient, you could try PH. Likewise, if you want to stay in-park, do Tony's. JMHO :goodvibes

I would also get rid of planet hollywood. it's not unique to Disney, so that's why I'd skip it.

Yup. I wouldn't use any of my dining credits to eat at a DTD Restaurant. Go to the character, and fun meals!

I would skip either Planet Hollywood, Whispering Canyon Cafe, or 50's Prime Time. We don't like any of those places.

My experience with every PH I've been to is fun atmosphere and lots of money spent for a full course meal that leaves me very hungry afterwards. Even with the DP, the portion size is waaay too small for what you pay.

While we await the verdict, I put another nail in the coffin of PH. Sorry, didn't mean to be so morbid about a restaurant. ;)

PH or Tony's we are two for two with bad experiences at both.

i like ph it is amust do for us, jmho

i'd ditch Tony's imo the food was worse there than anywhere else on the list although Ph did make us all race to the potty ( to much information eh? ) so in other words ditch both and think up another option!

Tony's. PH is no great shakes, but at least the kiddies might enjoy the atmosphere.

I'd skip them both, and stick Crystal Palace in where Tony's would have been.

I would say Planet Hollywood or Tony's. These two are my least favorite.

And the loser is...Planet Hollywood!

Thanks everyone! When I asked my daughter she immediately said PH too so I guess that's the majority. We ate at Tony's a few years ago and had a good experience plus we like eating in the park (and we booked a time where we can hopefully sit on the patio for dinner and watch Spectro) so that's why we are eating there.
