This year we've decided to take a non-disney vacation. We instead will be doing Universal & Island of Adventure. I have narrowed down 2 places to stay and I don't know which one to choose. Can you please help me decide. I have chosen either Cypress Pointe Grand Villas or Liki Tiki Village. We are a family of 5. 2 Adults and 3 kids (2 of which are teenagers) I would like to know between these 2 places which one should I book. Has anyone stayed at either of them? What was your experience. Which one should I choose?

Thanks

I personally would choose Cypress over Liki Tiki 100 times over...:thumbsup2

Liki Tiki has a great pool with mini water park/water slides.

We enjoyed it very much. The two bedroom villa was plenty of room. Washer and drier a huge plus. However, this place is not located close to Universal.

And Cyprus Pointe is certainly closer and is a nice enough resort.
Are you exchanging, renting outright, or getaway.com weeking?

Found an awesome price on Escapes.ca. $680 for Cypress & $780 for Liki Tiki. I just can't decided which one.

Liki Tiki has a nice pool area w/slides for the little ones, but it doesn't look as appealing for teenagers. Cypress Pointe has a much better location, a better reputation for maintenance and our teens enjoyed a week there. That would be my preference.

May I throw in another suggestion? Have you considered Vista Cay (upscale, new, and I think it's even gated). It's up by the Convention Center on Universal Drive (very convenient to Universal). You can send out a quote request at www.vistacayrent.com. I did for Thanksgiving week, and while some of them were very high, I got quite a few in the range that you're looking at (3BR units) and a couple that were around $600.

Good luck!

I'd take Cypress Pointe.

The resort is very nice and the location is great. Close to Downtown Disney, lot's of restaurants in the area and easy to get to Universal (take Palm Parkway/Turkey Lake Road right up to Universal). Much more convenient to everything than Liki Tiki. In f7prez's map (which isn't nearly to scale), Cypress Pointe is sort of in the middle of the map above I-4 where Route 535 splits off from Vineland Road (route 435).

I've always had very good review of Cypress Pointe, we book that one alot. Liki Tiki I think the unit can be hit or miss, but the waterpark feature is nice.
Vista Cay looks gorgeous and it comes across my desk at very attractive rates most times, but I've yet to send anyone to that property. I would love to hear firsthand reviews of the place.
