Which one: PORS or POFQ???????

We are doing a mid-October visit with our 2 daughters (11 and 7) and have no experience with a moderate and/or PO. Which area do you prefer (you PO vets!) and is there a certain room/building you would recommend for a water view room???

I've only stayed at POFQ, but I LOVED it. It's my favorite Disney resort. I love the fact that it's smaller and easier to get around. The landscaping is beautiful there as well. There's not a sit down restaurant, just a food court but that was fine with me. The beignets are wonderful! I also like that the buses pick up and drop off at French Quarter before they go to Riverside. I'm booked there again for our June trip.

I want to follow this thread to see other feedback as I'm still trying to decide on where we might stay in '06...although we do seem to be leaning towards POFQ.

We've stayed at both, most recently with our boys at PORS, and they loved it. It's a great place to stay with kids. We enjoyed POFQ, as well, but because it was smaller, and quieter (we stayed without kids that visit) - it was for that reason that we took the kids to PORS - seemed more "geared" to kids - plus has a great themed pool.

DF & I loved POFQ, in fact so much we decided to honeymooon there. Everything is great there. I agree with ericles that PORS is more geared for kids, but we saw pleanty of families @ FQ having a blast. POFQ is very romantic, quiet, and beautiful. We think it is a hidden gem as far as resorts go.

Our family loves POFQ. We have stayed at all the moderates and it is our favorite primarily becasue of size and location. The pool is great for the ages of children you have.
POR is also a great resort though more spread out and has a great pool. The trundle beds are nice to spilt up sleeping arrangements.
You will enjoy either resort.

We loved POR!! stayed there after many deluxe stays and I liked it better!! we were in Alligator Bayou building 14. Could not be a better location. I loved this resort!!! you can easily walk to POFQ and use their pool.. We have decided after many deluxe stays that we like the mods.. theming is great, all amenities good and love to have easy access to car to go get stuff!! enjoy!!

I've only stayed at Riverside- I loved it! Nice scenery, lots to do.

POR!!! I have only stayed here, with my fourth trip to POR coming up! I think the main building with the food court is much nicer. I also like the space that it has in the food court... you do not have to eat right next to your "neighbor!" Also the sitdown restaurant Boatrights is a nice option. I also love the pool, and the playground is bigger too. There is a fishing hole, places to rent bikes and boats.. it just has more amenties!

We just decided on POFQ yesterday!!!! But anyway, since you can use all of the amenities at the other PO, I'd go with FQ. It's gorgeous, and then there are the bus stops. First on---first off! It's a matter of personal preference!

While we have never stayed at POFQ, we have gone over there and I think that POR has a better food court and also better shop and they also have the lounge for entertainment. The pool at FQ looks pretty cool, but my kids actually like the quiet pools better (we usually visit the main pool once during our stay). I also like the atmosphere of POR better. The walk ways are more shaded which makes for nice walks. We usually stay in the Alligator Bayou section (it is more rustic) we have stayed in Bldgs 14, 27, 37, 39. For waterview I would recommend Bldg 27. Our personal favorite is Bldg 14. Have fun on your trip!!!! You will enjoy it no matter where you stay!!
