MNSSHP?

MVMCP?
I'd go with MNSSHP just because the crowds are supposedly lower. Have you seen MVMCP crowds? ACK! You couldnt drag me there kicking and screaming.

I didn't find the crowds any worse at MVMCP. Tough choice but I would pick MVMCP. They are both great but liked the shows for Christmas better.

I have heard only the opposite. I've had people tell me that it is shoulder to shoulder and one of the highest crowds they have ever seen in a park.

I've been to both and prefer MNSSHP. The weather was much nicer. The decorations are awesome and you can't beat hearing the story about the headless horseman and seeing him right before the parade. Plus, you can hit the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot too!!

That's what is worrying me. Does the F&WF bring in a huge crowd? We are going there on a Tuesday and just dont want to have to fight crowds to get anywhere. Heck, the PGA tour is at WDW the same week we will be there too. :(

MNSSHP!! I have been to both & I liked the Halloween party better because it was so original. The decorations, the characters in their costumes, the parade, it was so much fun.

Hmmm...tough to choose....my DD (age 7) and I have done both in the past two years. We attended both on a Sunday and had similar crowds- both low and the ability to walk on to most rides.

Here are some thoughts-

MNSSHP- weather is nicer in October. We were there Oct 19-23 and had temps in the 80s, lots of sun and low humidity. We attended MNSSHP on a Sunday night. It was very festive to see the characters in Halloween Costumes as well as guests. Awesome parade with a 'villian' focus. The Trick or Treat stations seemed to be where the lines were the longest. Easy to have this be an evening where you can do rides and see the parade. Oh- if you choose MNSSHP- bring bug stuff- mosquitos were terrible right at dusk as the party was starting.

MVMCP- December weather is a mixed bag. Can be quite chilly at night and rain is more a possiblity. We were there Dec 9-13 and crowds were low- great time to visit WDW if you are looking for low attendance. Again, went on a Sunday to MVMCP. Crowds weren't too bad- although I was a bit surprised by how many people caught the second (10:30) parade. Still, walked on to rides and saw all the shows and parades we wanted to see. Loved the Holiday feel to the MK- very festive. As there are more performances during MVMCP than at MNSSHP- you really have to choose if you want to do rides or see the performances. We had already had some MK days so when we went to MVMCP- we focused on seeing all the different Holiday shows and caught a few rides.

Both are great events- probably just need to decide what works best with your schedule and what you are expecting for weather. The Friday nights of either events are often the more crowded.

Happy planning!

We went to both last year and our family liked MNSSHP much better. We went on sold out nights both parties.

The whole park was open for MNSSHP, but for MVMCP Toontown was closed and so was the Jungle Cruise. We didn't have problems with long lines for Trick or Treating, we waited until the end of the night and went to Toontown. We had loads of candy by the time we left.

I don't know if I would do MVMCP again, but would definetly go to MNSSHP again.

We went to MVMCP in early Dec of '03. It was a Tuesday night and everything was walk on and wonderful!!! A little chill, but we didn't mind and it added to the atmosphere. For us, nothing beats it.

We went to MNSSHP in mid Oct of '04. It was a Thursday night and very crowded. We were disappointed because we thought it would be easy access to all the rides. Loved seeing all the little ones in their costumes and enjoyed the parade. Pooh and friends were too cute in their costumes!!

MVMCP?

oh, that's always a tough one! I've done both having done MVMCP 3 times and again this December and I've done MNSSHP twice, having just done it last year....we've been alternating each year because I love them both but I think if I really had to choose it would be MVMCP. I just love the Christmas atmosphere all over Disney World let alone at MVMCP. I LOVE the parade too! It's pretty long.

But I do enjoy MNSSHP too. The parade is really cute but not quite as long. It's really the only place on Disney property to see Halloween decorations.

If I could, I'd do both every year! :teeth:

Where part of NH are you from? Maybe we are neighbors?

Dover area here

Dave

Nope :sad2: would be fun to have a DIS neighbor though- take 101 West to the south western corner by Keene and that is where you will find us!

Okay

I now that area as well, I was born and raised in Keene. Lived on South Lincoln street for many years then moved to Swanzey Center about a mile west of the High school.

I love that part of the state but my wife and I are locked into jobs by the coast.

Spent my childhood at Swanzey Lake and Cheshire Fair. You ever go to those places?

I'm hearing 'It's a Small World' right now! We live about 5 minutes from Spofford Lake so we tend to go there when looking for a quick local swim but I have Swanzey Lake on the list to check out eventually.

Ah...the Cheshire Fair- I can smell the Fried Dough right now! We have gone a few times but lately our summer vacation seems to be during the time the Fair is going- not on purpose, just how things work out.

We went to MVMCP as part of our Dec. "first and only" trip, and really enjoyed it. The Christmas decorations and music throughout all of the parks & resorts really helped DH have a very enjoyable trip - so much that he upgraded our park hoppers to APs before we went home. Now we get to go back for MNSSHP. :)

We were at MNSSHP in 2004. It was Food & Wine and Golf tournament time. The parks overall were a bit more crowded than we are used to (always go offseason) due to the Hurricanes plus the locals on the weekend at the
F & W. However, we didn't really have any problems at the parks, using Fastpass when necessary. I didn't notice any mosquito problem in Oct 2004, but you can never tell with Florida.

MNSHHP is really fun. You can get into the park at 4 p.m. with your ticket. We didn't use a park day on the day we went. We were at the gates before 4 and waited to be let in. We rode a few rides, DH got his hair cut and decorated for the party and then we went to LTT for dinner. It's cool. They had storytelling in the foyer before the party. We actually finished before the party began and walked around Frontierland with NO ONE around. Pretty cool!

Both!!

I've done MNSSHP twice and MVMCP three times. Loved them each time.
Honestly, I would recommend either party. What you need to decide is do you want to go to WDW in October or December?
