We're thinking about trip #2. :)

What's better - MNSSHP or MVMCP?

Right now I'm leaning towards Halloween, because it might be warm enough to make use of the resort pools. But I'd love to hear opinions!! :sunny:

MNSSHP was fantastic, and spoiled us for many Halloweens to follow, LOL! We've never been there for MVMCP, so I don't know how they compare. Just thought MNSSHP was the best thing we've experienced at WDW, ever!

Have you seen the Christmas holiday decorations before? If not, I would say the MVMCP, so you can experience the decorations.

I personally like both events.

DD9 likes MNSSHP better because of the costumes, and the candy stations. We went twice this past year.

I do look forward to seeing these guys....

I love both but I would say MNSSHP. Its great seeing everyone dressed in Halloween costumes. After Wilma tore through South FL last October we went to Disney (we needed hot showers, hot meals, and TV..hehe any reason to go to Disney is a good reason). My DD12 still talks about the "Cinderella" people. Dressed as Cindy was a pretty blonde and dressed as the Stepsisters were guys. They looked so good at looking like the evil step sisters, it was great! I wished I had taken a picture of them. Thanks to MNSSHP my daughter was able to have a Halloween because down here were still under a curfew for another 10 days after Wilma hit.

Even though its October we can get cold fronts down here. It was 50s at night when we were there. October 24-28

We've been to both, and we love MNSSHP the best, by far!

Another vote for MNSSHP! We went for the first time last year and had a blast. We are looking forward to another MNSSHP this year. Maybe we will see you there!

Oh, that's a tough one. I've done both, love both and wish I could do both every single year.

I LOVE December at WDW for all the Christmas festivities, decorations and Christmas music...all that is besides going to MVMCP.

I love the weather in October and love the Halloween party.

Last year I was lucky enough to do both which was a dream of mine. :goodvibes

But if I HAD to choose one, MVMCP would win.

I alternate each party each year and that has worked for us (except for last year!).

Good luck deciding!

We've done both (MNSSHP in '04, MVMCP in '05).

We're returning to WDW again this year in Dec. and will do MVMCP again because we had a blast and LOVED the infusion of holiday spirit everywhere.

BUT -- if I had to choose which party, I'd go for October and MNSSHP. That's because while Christmas is everywhere (at WDW, wonderfully, and everywhere else that time of year), Halloween is only pull-out-all-the-stops at MK. We thought the parade was better, the transformation of MK more intense, and the overall experience more unusual. WHile the Christmas decorations at MK are fantastic, they ARE up all month, for everyone to see (although they do a little extra special stuff just for the party). But Halloween really is decorated just for the party in a way that you can't see otherwise (unless someone tells me I'm wrong b/c they do it up on Halloween day itself?).

Both are wonderful. The Christmas Season is a great time to visit.

We were there in 2004 the week before Christmas and all I can say is it was cold and windy. For 10 days I never took off my leather coat, at night wore my winter cost over my leather coat, plus gloves and a hat and I was still cold. It was a wonderful trip but there was no swimming thats for sure. Crowds were very low especially in the evenings. The decorations were beautiful. Loved MVMCP. It also was a very cold night and as soom as the Fireworks and Parade were over the park emptied.

Went this past October for MNSSHP and loved this time of year. Weather was hot while we were there, crowds were low except Epcot. We had a great trip and loved MNSSHP would do this time of year again.

We've done both and enjoyed MVMCP the best. We are going in Oct this year and skipping MNSSHP. It was fun, but not a "must do" for us.

HTH,
Ginger

Great question! We've been to both of the parties (Christmas in 04, Halloween in 05) and loved them both! I think we'll be doing both again in the future. This year we're going back for MVMCP. We LOVED the Christmas shows, the cookies and cocoa and the "snow" on Main Street. So MVMCP would get my vote (but by only a small margin).

The reason we decided to go back in December instead of October was because we love the Christmas spirit in all the parks and the decorations in all the resorts. There are a lot more Christmas events in addition to the Christmas Party (Osborne Family Spectical of Lights, Holiday Illuminations, Candlelight Processional, Jingle Jangle Parade). The down-side of December is that we haven't been able to go to the water parks or in the pools because the weather has been too cold.

As for Halloween, the trick or treating was a lot of fun (I wish we would have gotten into doing it earlier-- we kinda skipped it at first because we were all adults). The Halloween parade and fireworks were really cute, but I preferred the Christmas shows to the Halloween dance parties. October is a great time to be in WDW as well, with the Food & Wine Festival and the moderate weather.

Let's face it, you can't really go wrong with either one!!! :yay:

I am going to have to say MNSSHP. I have been to both events and hands down, MNSSHP was better! I also think that the October crowds were better than those in December. The weather is also MUCH better. We went December 2-10 and it was cold and crowded.

We were there Oct 25 - 30 & it WAS cold. But we had a blast... We've never been to MVMCP, but MNSSHP is way cool. Loved the Trick or Treating.

We've been to MVMCP in 2004 and MNSSHP in 2005, and enjoyed both. Our favorite was MVMCP, but we enjoy Christmas more than Halloween anyway. IMO, Oct. was way too hot. We're going back this Dec. :)
