I've got 2 ADR's...one for Mama Melrose and one for Sci-Fi...I've eaten at Mama's several times and didn't really like it the last time and I've only eaten lunch at Sci-Fi but that's been a few years ago.
Which do you all vote for and why? :confused3

I have never been to Mama's, but we just ate at Sci Fi (for dinner) last week. We were pleasantly surprised after all of the bad reviews how much we enjoyed it. We loved the atmosphere!!! A+ on that. My dh and I had the butcher steak and no, it wasn't the best steak I've ever had (far from it), but it was good and so were the potatoes. All three of my daughters had the ribs and fries and they really enjoyed them. The milkshakes were very good. And the desserts! mmmm. I had the cheesecake and it was so cute with the caramel popcorn and m&m's around the plate. My dh and dd had the peanut butter brownie or something like that. I just remember it tasted like a brownie, but I don't think it was called that. I just looked on allears.net's menu and it wasn't listed. They really enjoyed it. So, I recommend Sci Fi. But I have no opinions of Mama's. We've eaten at 50's Cafe and really enjoyed it too. Another option.

we ate at both last week...Mama for dinner and Sci-Fi for lunch. We had ressies for Mama and we still had to wait 30 minutes to be seated! Food was good, but nothing spectacular.

Lunch at Sci-Fi was good...the atmosphere is just fun for the kids and the milkshakes are awesome!!

We did not have ressies at Sci-Fi, but got their right when it opened for lunch and they said we could sit at a table, not car. I said fine because I knew the kids would still have fun. As the greeter took us in, he seated us at a car because he had heard me ask a hostess that if there was a no-show, if we could sit in the car.

Based on our experiences last week, I'd pick Sci-Fi :)

Thanks! That helps! I really wanted to try 50's prime time and couldn't get it since we will be there the Friday after Thanksgiving so it was booked solid! I did love Sci-Fi's atmosphere too and since I'll have 3 kids with me, they would probably enjoy that better than Mama's.
Thanks for the info! ;)

I ate at both places last month but I had a better experience at Sci-Fi. Mama Melrose's wasn't awful and I'll eat there again in the future but nothing spectacular or especially delicious. Sci-Fi does have great shakes and I have to say the Oreo shake is AWESOME! I also really like the BLT soup and cucumber/melon salad. Wish I could pull up a car and have all three items for lunch right now!

We like Mama Melrose and do it every year for Fantasmic Package. We've always had good food and Great service (although we were a little disappointed this year...but think a lot of it was that we were extremely tired at dinner because we flew in that morning). That being said, we haven't done Sci-Fi since our boys were younger. I've read mixed reviews on it and that the menu has shrunk considerably. We're actually going back to 50's Prime Time next year because we haven't been in over 10 years.

For me, I would pick Mama Melrose. I have gone 3 times and going a 4th time with the fantasmic package again in November. We love the food and the service there! The kids enjoyed the food as well too. But if you have really young kids then they might enjoy the atmosphere of Sci Fi better. I just personally prefer Mama Melrose which is why we keep going back there! Good luck on your decision. I'm sure whatever you choose, it will be fine!

Mamma Melrose or Prime Time. Si-Fi went down hill for dinner in my opinion.
