Which of these 3 would you choose for a birthday dinner for a boy turning 11?
1. 'Ohana
2. California Grill
3. Chef Mickey's

The kids don't know it yet, but we are visiting their great-grandparents in SW Fla in Feb. I thought I'd take them to Disney (Poly and MK) for a night to celebrate their birthdays and am trying to ask which TS they would like without giving the surprise away. We are going to Crystal Palace for DD who will be turning 7. We have been to 'Ohana and Chef Mickey's before, but not California Grill. DS is an adventurous eater who particularly love fish, meat and fruit.

I voted for Ohana's because I think he would enjoy the atmosphere more here then for a birthday celebration at CM......California grill may not be to bad either for his age......but Ohana is my first choice for you.
Hope you have a great time

I voted for "Ohana...but my real vote would be for Teppan Edo.

Teppan Edo is a family tradition because my son (now 17) demands that we go...it is his favorite thing about WDW overall. (and he has been to WDW 10 times!)

If your son loves everything Asian (like mine)...loves the action of food prepared in front with FIRE and KNIVES....(very "Boy" friendly)...and loves Oriental food (Sushi and Hibachi...steak/shrimp are on the menu)...then he will LOVE Teppan Edo...

DS even loves to shop in Japan and we always stop to listen to the Matsuriza! (Japanese drums)...

Have a Great time!

I voted for Chef Mickeys because we celebrated our ds (12) 10th B'day at Chef Mickeys and he loved it! I had called ahead and ordered a Mickey Head cake for him and he got lots of character attention! They "helped" him blow out his candles and made a big fuss over him!:rotfl: He is now 12 and his request for dining for our upcoming trip is chef Mickeys!:rotfl:

we went last year and our whole family loved Ohanas. We are going back for my sons 11 birthday and he has requested his birthday dinner be there

Thanks to everyone who voted so far!:goodvibes

And to the poster who suggested Teppan Edo - we were there once in 2008 and loved it. :thumbsup2But, my first post was not clear. I need something that is at a resort and not in a park; preferably something that is easy to get to from the Poly.

I'm sure they will love any of the places you choose ~ it's Disney :wizard:

I also think you will know best which your child would enjoy most. The new experience & new food of CG , the relaxing & fun Ohana or the crazy, crowded yet very Disney fun CM.

My daughter chose Ohana for breakfast for her bday this year, my youngest son chose CM & I chose Boma for breakfast for myself.

It's fun no matter where you go ~ and maybe the new experience may be more special on this surprise trip!

Have fun !!

I voted for 'Ohana because you are staying at the Poly and it's super convenient (sp?):goodvibes The food is great and it's a fun atmosphere for a birthday.

Since you are going to CP you are covered with a character buffet so my second choice would be CG.

You will have a great time with either one.:thumbsup2
