No, she isn't going to be mad, at all. The original offer was for the one bedroom at VWL, which she knew was going to be 112 points. But, after coming here and finding out how popular the first week in December is, I was afraid of ending up with no room, so she called and got the one bedroom at OKW (her "home") and will call back on May 5 to see if there's availability at one of the others. She has 240 points, that she's going to lose if she doesn't use them by the end of December, so that's not a problem.

Yes, I purposedly booked this trip in early December, to see the Christmas decorations. Another reason why we probably won't get VWL...

We have park hoppers. I just bought a four day and we have two days left on two old passes...so we're covered there.

I think I like your reasoning! :D You're really thinking this all out...like I have been doing these past few weeks! lol Thanks! I really like the location of BCV and BWV...keep your fingers crossed for us that there's availability when she calls. I think I'm going to have her call each day...someone had posted that you can check day-to-day availability. May 1st can't come fast enough!

Sharon, Resort is the most important thing for me when planning my trips. I have in the past put myself on the waiting list one day at a time instead of for the entire trip. Make sure the CM at member services does it that way. If you want to have an experience at one of the other resorts and you can get it for part of the time, then that might be an option. Do you mind switching resorts? It might be a good option, now that I think about it, because if you could get a couple of nights at VWL, then at least you could take the boat to MK and plan your MK days then. Also, you would get to see the decorations there, too.

If you could get a couple of nights at BCV instead, then you could plan your Epcot and Disney STudios days while you are there. I think this will all work out.

Referring to the waiting list: I once got my entire trip off the waitlist. I had the CM book each day separately, and eventually they all came through.

Good Luck!!!!

By the way, make sure you see the Osbourne lights at Disney Studios, and plan to do the Candlelight Processional at Epcot. I go every year at Christmas now, because it is so magical.

I don't think switching resorts is a good option for us. We are planning a grocery stop, for all our snacks (ice cream, frozen pizza, soda, etc) and won't have a car to move everything from one resort to the other. It sounds nice, but I think it will be more of a headache than it's worth. :( I have MGM planned two nights, just to see the Osbourne lights! I was watching the planning DVD yesterday and they had some of them on it...looks unbelievable! I think they had the Candlelight Processional on there too, but I'm not sure what that is.

Thanks! :D

I believe that bell services will do the move from one resort to another and keep your food in cold storage if your new resort room is not ready. But I still wouldn't want to pack it all up.

Sharon, do a search on the Theme Parks and Attractions board for Candlelight Processional. There are tons of posts about it before Christmas. Just briefly: it is a show and dinner package. The show is a large choir comprised of middle school and high school students from around the country. There is a live orchestra and the Liberty Hall singers (I think that is what they are called), the professional singers from World Showcase American pavillion. There is a celebrity narrator who reads the story of the birth of Jesus. The story is mixed with beautiful music and song. It is really amazing. The candlelight processional happens in the beginning (can't remember the end) when the singers enter with "candles" and proceed through the crowd while singing on their way to the stage. You get to choose the restaurant for your dinner either before or after the show. Bring blankets or lots of layers. We froze.

Wow, the poll is really even!

I voted for BCV, but I would also choose BWV. It's very easy to get to Epcot and MGM. It never takes us long to get to MK either.

And, there is so much for you to do without the kids.

I just wanted to thank everyone who voted and posted. From the results of the poll....I don't have anything to worry about! :D I'll let you all know where we finally end up. Thanks, again! :D

My vote goes to BCV.
Even though you will be spending most of your time at the Magic Kingdom, bus trip with no kids is a dream, the ability to take a 5 minute walk to EPCOT at any moment is what sold me on this resort. "BWV" is a very close second if not comparable.
Tough decision but I don't see how you can go wrong. Each resort has its ++++'s and its great to be able to choose.
