We are planning a long weekend at Disneyland Paris to celebrate my best friend's 40th Birthday. It is not for a while but we do like to plan!!!:dance3:

I have stayed at the Disneyland Hotel and although amazing, possibly too expensive for all the families who we would like to invite. I really did not like the New York Hotel that much and Davy Crockets is no good if you like a good drink!

Any recommendations for the Sequola Lodge or Newport Bay hotel?

Many thanks

Susan

Hi Susan both Sequoia Lodge and Newport Bay Club have their supporters.
Both are opposite HNY across the lake so very near to the park :)

Out of the two I'd give my vote to Sequoia Lodge :)

SL SL SL SL SL SL SL haha lol (I like the Sequoia Lodge if u hadn;t guessed ;))

Newport Bay Club is my favourite out of the two.. Especially if you get a lake-view room. It is beautiful to look out of the window onto Lake Disney with all the lights.
It is also a very elegant Hotel. I personally think its the closest you can get to staying in the Disneyland Hotel without actually staying in the Disneyland Hotel lol.
Also, I'm a big fan of the bar there lol

Yeah, I kind of agree with that. I love the Newport Bay Club and, for the cost, it is excellent value-for-money. It is a very elegant hotel for a "mid range" and the pool is great. I like the bar, too. :) :goodvibes

isnt the new york closer than newport... i have walked from both and i would say the newport is a lot further.... but if we r talking cost, then yea the newport would be the next best thing...
just my lil ole thots lol

lol I meant the closest as in similarities in elegance inside the actual hotel - not as in the distance.
Frances999 - I don't think I can even count how many hours I spent in that bar each night lol and I am not alcoholic either :rotfl2:. It is lovely in there and the waiters kept on giving us free crisps and sat talking to us each night which was really nice. :goodvibes

It could well be the Newport then because the bar would definately swing it for us!!

:rotfl2: There's the spirit Susan!!!

Seriously though, both Sequoia Lodge and Newport Bay Club are beautiful hotels. But, as far as elegance goes, I personally find Newport Bay to be the best out of the two! The rooms are beautiful, spacious and most importantly - extremely clean. The location is excellent too! Looking right over the Lake and out of the two hotels, it is the closest to the park. I really cannot find a fault with the hotel, nor with its staff.

Last March when we arrived there at midday, we were given the key to our rooms immediately and never had to wait until 3pm to check-in. They really were on-the-ball here. I think the highlight was being welcomed with Goofy. We had just walked into the hotel with our suitcases and Goofy (dressed up as a porter) pounced on my friend and started dancing with her. It was such a lovely start to the holiday.

As far as the bar goes. It was beautiful. The hotel is themed as a Yacht Club and therefore there are many nautical pictures and ornaments around the place pirate: . In the bar they had magnificent boat ornaments and a good selection of drinks too

I hope we've helped a little with your decision anyway! But no matter which hotel you choose out of the two, you will love it!! They're both magnificent and have their own charms!!

Admiral's Floor at the Newport Bay Club - the hotel's beautiful and the bar is fabulous, it's my favourite hotel.
and Admiral's Floor with it's consierge service is apparently the next best thing to the DLH or so I was told when we stayed there. :goodvibes

We have stayed at the NPBC and in a couple of weeks (*excited!!!*) we are about to stay at the Sequoia Lodge for the first time. We weren't overly impressed with NPBC - even though we have a lovely view of the lake, we found the curtains to be really light, and we find it hard to sleep without complete darkness!!

It is a nice hotel, lovely interior, and the bar was good, but on visiting Sequoia Lodge we found this made a bigger impression.

Depends on what you are looking for really! Both have pools - but check closure dates as may be shut over your dates :)
