Which on-site Car Rental?

I typically use Hertz when I travel to Orlando, but I wanted to use one of their on-site rental agencies for an upcoming December vacation. Last year I used Avis but it seemed like we had to walk forever to get to the car - was wishing I had just hopped on the Hertz bus by the time we got to the car. Does anybody know if National or Alamo are less of a walk - more convenient?

The on site rental cars are all in the same area. National is a little closer to the terminal, but not dramatically so.

We used to use National but now only rent from Hertz. Even though they are offsite we are driving away quickly from the lot. We found them faster than the onsite agencies.

You might want to enroll in the #1 Club at Hertz. It speeds up the process even more.

What caused you to stop using National and switch over to Hertz?

Last year a battery cable came off our car and we had to wait 2 hours in the heat to get any help from National. It finally came from a local GM dealership of all places. What a nightmare. Does Hertz have better roadside support?

We take whatever Priceline and William Shatner gives us. Usually it's an onsite company (this past weekend it was Avis, although we've gotten National, Alamo, and Budget in the past), but we've gotten Hertz a few times too. They really are fast and painless, even though they are offsite.

I always go for compact or economy and have gotten cars for anywhere between $13 and $19 per day for a weekend. The higher end is at peak times and holidays. I base my bids on the rates I come up with on Orbitz and by plugging in various codes.
