Which Ohana breakfast time?

Originally I chose a 10:15am breakfast time. My thought was to sleep in a bit before heading over to the Poly. (We are staying at AKL.) Then I started reading how the meals at Ohana get backed up and people are waiting 45 minutes to an hour which is a complete waste of time. I have been checking for a new time hoping for something around 9. I managed to get an 8:10 this morning.

My questions:
What are your experiences with Ohana breakfast? Did you have to wait for later ADR times.
How will transportation from AKL be for an early ADR? We prefer the bus, but can take a cab if it's going to be a huge deal.

I still have both ADR's and need to drop one. I'm still hoping for an ADR around 9. We plan to go to Epcot after breakfast. We are a family of 4 with a teen and pre-teen. No little kids.

For an 8:10, from AKL, it's kind of a nuisance. You will want to take a bus at 6:30 to Magic Kingdom, then the resort monorail to Poly. Depending on dates, not 100% sure you could bus to Epcot then take the express monorail to the TTC and walk from there; it varies.

I agree with the PP about the travel arrangements. It may be worth it to grab a taxi or an Uber to save time and sanity.

I have always had to wait after checking in at 'Ohana breakfast and dinner, 45 minutes sounds about right for a later ADR in the meal service.

Thanks. We have decided to do the 8:10 ADR. It looks like MK has EMH on the ADR date. That will probably be the best bet for an early bus ride to MK. Then we can hop on the monorail to the Poly.

This thread has made me nervous about a 7:45 breakfast on our departure day (coming from Art of Animation). Enough that I started prepping the kids that I might cancel it. But I think that as long as we can catch an Uber, I'll keep it. The bus would be way too much for me though.

if you have to prep people to make it, it is too much stress. IMO. it's a vacation! I was gonna do a 7:45 on departure day too but just shifted everything around so I don't have to prep myself or my son or work it too hard. it's vacation!

We picked a ressie time for the latest we could get, almost 11 AM, and had to wait about a half hour for our table. We do bigger meals like this on our days off- non park days, so we don't have the time crunch issues.

Oh, I meant that I was preparing them for the idea that we might NOT do it. Particularly my son who needs a LOT of advance notice before plans change. I wanted to make sure he'd be okay if we weren't able to. Stitch being in MK now makes it a little easier, I think.

Oh, ha. Mine is the same (he is on the spectrum, but I'm not and honestly I am that way myself sometimes). yeah it would be a tough call for me if already promised. I'm not a morning person but I'd suck up and deal. I love the Ohana breakfast even though the food is basic, I just love stitch. My son has a tough time with character lines and I am careful about ride lines too (good thing some of his favorites are the stuff you can get on easily, he will ride the peoplemover all afternoon and be perfectly happy).
