Hiya,

Just looking for opinions of those who go to DL as to which place you'd select to stay at for 6 nights in mid Oct? There's just 2 adults in our party and while we'd love to stay on property I don't think it's worth it cost wise for this long of a trip.

I'm definitely kicking myself for not booking with points right at the 7 mos mark LOL

Please add your thoughts in here as well if you like as to why you chose something or even better why you definitely wouldn't stay somewhere...

My vote would be for a hotel you don't have listed: Hyatt Regency Orange County. We stayed there and LOVED it. In fact, it is one of our top hotel stays ever in terms of value and customer service. We stayed with our two daughters in a Conference King which means it was a huge 700sf room with a long conf table in it, desk, a living room area (pull out couch and TV) and a bedroom area with a King and another TV. Lots of room for our family at about $149. This was over Thanksgiving. Suites were on sale at that time, I think TWO BEDROOM SUITES were going for about $160!!! If I was going with just DH, we'd stay here again in a heartbeat in a regular room or maybe in a one bedroom suite as they have them on sale all the time! The value here is truly outstanding!

Their shuttle runs twice an hour and we found it to be prompt and terrific eveyr single time. It was a large bus, not an oversized van or one of those smaller shuttles.

I know you didn't ask about the Hyatt, but I thought I'd share anyway since we had such a great experience there. It doesn't seem to get mentioned very much here on these boards but it is truly terrific.

Good luck with your decision!

Tropicana. Location, location, location.

It's not the best (although the pool is nice) but all I need is a bed at DLR.

We stayed at the FFI a few weeks ago and enjoyed it.
I booked the HOJO for our trip in October. You can't beat the $59 retro rate and great reviews on the Dis.

I picked the HoJo. I honestly feel like I am at a resort on vacation when I am there. I love the lush landscaping, the pool area is so nice and the hotel is quiet. I love having a balcony and the parking is plentiful. It's also close to the freeway if you want to explore and it is within walking distance to the park.

If you are going on the 21st to 25th book the Hojo at the ENT rate, ASAP, before that deal is gone. If other dates take half of the votes for Hojo out of consideration because that rate is why people like. If you can't get it, it shouldn't be factored in to the decision.

The other reason people like Hojo is it's great kid pool, which you won't be using.

With that said to make this a more fair anaysis, I suggest BWPPI.

BWPPI is super close, onlu the Park Vue Inn is on an even level for this factor. Also enjoy the breakfast that is included that some of your other options don't offer.

I've stayed at the Fairfield, Hojo's & CCI, & if traveling with 2 adults.....for 6 nights, I'd pick the CCI.

- Dedicated shuttle comes in handy for mid day breaks (especially staying 6 days).
- As close as Hojo if you end up walking.
- it's cute....kind of a boutique motel.
- free decent continental breakfast.

With kids, I'd go with Hojo, if only two days & commando'ing both days with no breaks, I'd go with Fairfield (or one of the motels next to the crosswalk...BWPPI or others), but two adults for 6 days....I'd do the CCI.

:)

Honestly for 6 nights I'd 2nd Hound 109 and pick one you don't have listed, Candy Cane Inn. DH and I have stayed there several times and other than staying at the Grand Californian the CCI is my favorite place to stay. If it needs to be something from your list though I would go with HoJo, never had a problem there and have had a nice stay each time, that is my go to if we don't have the funds for the slightly pricier CCI.

$59 retro rate?? that would be fantastic but I don't see that available anywhere now.

Check out the link posted by Mikey. I booked the same time (22nd-25th) at their retro rate for AP holders...you can do this one instead if you have an AP. Call the hotel # to make the reservation, do not do it online.
Keep in mind, the only way to get this rate is with a valid Entertainment Book card or a valid AP. Entertainment books are fairly cheap and easy to get online if you don't already have one.

Tropicana, mostly for location and cost! Close to the park and several places to eat if you don't want to eat in the park. It was clean.

Ditto everything he said. DH and I are going by ourselves for 6 nights this summer and staying at CCI again. They also have AAA and return visit discounts.
