Please give me your opinion on which of these 2 should be the place we try on our upcoming trip and I would appreciated any suggestions on what to order there too.

I would personally opt for Artist Pointe. The buffalo dish is not to be missed, must heaven on earth.:goodvibes Flying Fish is good, but not comparable to AP in MY opinion.:)

I voted for Flying Fish because we love seafood and the menu at this restaurant is creative and varied. We had a wonderful meal at Flying Fish with terrific service and great food - we always look forward to going back and never hesitate to recommend it to others.

Artist Point, on the other hand, was a huge disappointment for us. I'm sure part of it is that we just caught them on a bad night but honestly I think that they have a pretty limited menu that doesn't change its offerings very much. I won't tell you not to go to AP, but I can tell you we have no desire to ever dine there again and there is no other signature restaurant on property that we would say that about.

Hope you have a great meal whichever you choose! :goodvibes

I picked FF also. We love the food there. Artist Point is one of our less favorite signatures. Not only do the dishes not "wow" us, the atmosphere of rustic cabin does not give us the feeling of having a special dining event.

Flying Fish for me, no doubt. From soup to dessert, everything I've ever gotten there has been top shelf, every time. With fish, it's all about consistency and Chef Tim's crew pulls it off. I've been all around the menu a couple of times a have yet to find something I don't like (well, pea shoots but every gourmet meal needs to have something green left on the plate when you're done). I can't complain about Artist Point but I really have a special place for Flying Fish.

Wow, this is a really tough decision. I voted for Artist Point. But in reality, I might make this decision based on what fit into my touring plans the best that day. You won't go wrong with either choice.

You can't go wrong with either restaurant, but we prefer Flying Fish. I love their potato-wrapped red snapper and my wife loves the diver scallops.

Well I voted for Artis Point. I had the Mussle Appertiser and Buffalo Steak (my first time having this) and it was sooooo good. To top it off I had a Irish coffee to round everything out. Even though the prices where upscale it was well worth it and it ended my last day at Disney with a BIG BANG for the bucks.

That would be my opinion as well. The food is usually very good at both restaurants - FF is little heavier on fish dishes (of course) - but with a good steak - AP a little more "gamey" - salmon and buffalo. I love the decor at both and have had excellent service at both. We own at BWV, so visit FF a lot - but part of my heart is over at WL, so AP is another favorite.

The Podcast did an excellent review of Artist Point in a recent show. You might stop over to hear their analysis of it.

I thought Flying fish was better....

they had the best steak...and red snapper dish.

I wasn't blown away by artist point but I will try again one day.

We were concerned about the limited menu as well. Thank you so much for your opinion. We are really torn about this decision.

We were concerned about the "WOW" factor too.

I am so glad to that. Consistency is important and variety is as well.

I agree about it being a tough decision. But nice to hear I can't go wrong with both

The snapper is the dish my DH is particularly interested in and I am attracted by the scallops! :goodvibes :rotfl: How funny!

I love Irish coffee!

Your not making this easy, are you?!!:lmao:

Great idea! I think I will.

Thanks everyone for your opinions, I can't wait to get this decision made.:surfweb:

Do what we'd do... book both! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

I would love to, but we only have 2 TS credits and one night left to plan for. No one is willing to give up the other ADRs we have booked.:rotfl:

Here is the list of the other ADRs we have.

Le Cellier
Wolfgang Pucks Cafe
Raglan Road
Ohana
Kona
California Grill
Jiko
Nacroossee's
???????? (Flying Fish -or- Artist Point)

Dump Narcoosees.

I was just going to suggest the same thing!

Of the two restaurants, Flying Fish is the better, hands down, especially if you like seafood. Then you could replace Narcoossee with AP and you wouldn't have to choose between the two.

Narcoossee is good but over-rated in my opinion. At least with AP you will have a totally different dining experience that you can't get (in terms of menu) anywhere else on property. Narcoossee's is first and foremost a seafood restaurant and quite frankly there are other seafood places on property that are much better.
