I'm going on the Eastern cruise 7/10/04. Was wondering which night would be best to make the Palo ressie for. I really don't want to miss the theme or special dining nites in the 3 dining halls. Thoughts?

Well, if you don't want to miss the themed nights then you're looking at going on one of the first 3 nights which are standard rotation evenings. On our last cruise we went the first night and thought it was a great kick-off to the trip. The downside though was that our table-mates had already met each other and the wait staff so we felt a little "late" if you know what I mean.

Not sure if that helps but there ya go :)

I read that you should make ressies for one of the nights you leave a port. The lights of the island and all

Another approach would be to look at all the menus and try to determine what appeals to you the least.

Good luck!

we like to go the first night -- we take our daughter to eat at our assigned restaurant; that way she gets to eat and we get to meet our tablemates and servers; then we drop her off at the club (this year lab) and head to palo

We've chosen to go on our first Animator's Palate night and although we will miss the dinner show a AP we had the opportunity to enjoy it on our last cruise and felt that this was the only dinner we were willing to miss. One of the hardest decisions to make while onboard is which night to go to Palo's. I like the other idea mentioned of going to your regular dinner with the kids then heading to Palo's after dropping them off at the clubs. I just don't think I could sit at a dinner table and not eat. LOL Very tough decision to make. Good luck and whatever your decision is enjoy!!!!

I hate to menton this, but you can skip the Palo dinner and go there for brunch. It's wonderful!! The reason I didn't want to mention it is because more people will be wanting to do brunch making it harder to get the ressies.

We've never been to Palo for dinner. We don't feel like we've missed anything. We have always enjoyed our tablemates and have had a great time catching up on each other's activities from the day. We have been to brunch several times and the food is wonderful and the service has been top notch!!

We did the double dip on our first cruise. We went to dinner with the kids and had an appetizer while they ate. We chose to go on Tropical Night because they showed the movie premier that night and we wouldn't be missing a live show. The kids weren't missing anything because they took them to see the movie with the clubs at 3:00. It was a long night of sitting at a table but we were able to experience it all.

We chose not to do Palo on our second cruise because I didn't think it was worth the hassle and wasn't willing to give up dinner with the kids. Somedays that was the only time we spent much time with them they loved the clubs so much.
