We're planning a short trip and have been commanded to spend an evening outside of the parks with family. If you had to skip a night, which would it be Saturday, Sunday, or Monday?

Our evening plans will likely be for 3 hours (although they could end earlier depending on family drama), and begin around 5.

I'd say Monday since that's likely to be night without fireworks/Fantasmic, and perhaps shorter hours. When is your trip? I leave in 6 days, and the midweek hours are a lot shorter. Although the weekend hours are not.

We're going end of Sept. will arrive late Friday and leave first thing Tuesday. I was reluctant to say Monday, since it's our last night, but if there's no fireworks that kind of makes sense.

When are you going in September? There is a Halloween Party on Monday, September 25 and DL closes at 6:00 pm for non-party guests.

Saturday will be the busiest of the the three. But Monday won't have fireworks. However, it will have World of Color. Friday and Saturday evenings are usually the times I find myself hating being at Disneyland because of insane crowds. But that's just my opinion.

I am there next week. Long before the Halloween Party days.
Sorry, I was answering the OP who said they'd be at the end of September. For Raya, it matters which weekend she's considering at the end of September. The Monday without the MHP will have longer hours in the evening (10-9) than the one with the party (8-6). Neither will have evening entertainment per se (WoC will happen on both nights), but no fireworks or F! on either Monday. Still if they're only going to be in the park for three hours starting around 5, the Monday with the MHP doesn't make sense (because the park closes at 6:00 pm).

barbarann, next week is very different than the end of September. Next Monday is Labor Day, which is the last day of the summer season, the tail end of a marathon weekend, and part of a three day holiday. In terms of hours and entertainment, there really isn't much difference between Sat, Sun, and Mon. In terms of crowds, I'd guess that the largest crowds will be there on Sat and Sun because that's the prime portion of the weekend and the when the majority of the marathon activities happen. Still, I think you'll be in for good sized crowds on all three days.

I planned my vacation for next week, since Labor Day just happens to be my birthday. I have a 5 day park hopper, and so wish that I had the option to add an extra day. I am actually looking forward to shorter park days. At my age of almost 70, I don't need to be any more hectic than I have to be. I am flying solo, but planning on meeting up with California friends as much as I can. Just scored a great time for Cafe Orleans Fantasmic dining. Thanks for your input.
