Which night for Fantasmic Dessert Buffet?

Hi everyone!

It's getting close to the 100 day mark for our first trip to Disneyland and I'm starting to think about which PS we'd like to make - First, the Fantasmic Dessert Buffet.

We'll be arriving on Tuesday, June 21st and taking it easy on our first day (with the 3 hour time change we'll need it!) with some shopping and pool time, but we will be in California for a full week.

We're planning on going to Legoland on Friday, since that's when their hours are extended. We will have 4 day hoppers to DL, but looking at the schedule posted, it looks like both Wednesday and Thursday will be short days (because of Grad Nights?) and most likely, Fantasmic won't be showing. So, our choices are either Saturday the 25th or Monday the 27th. The park is open until 11 on Monday, so am I correct in thinking that there will probably be one showing of Fantasmic?

I'm seriously considering trying to get either Balcony or Riverside (would save us $20 with DS7 and DD4 - DS10 is now an "adult"!) seats for Saturday night (early showing), but spending the day over at CA since DL is reportedly packed on Saturdays, expecially during the summer. Is this the best plan? Or should we try for the Monday night showing (if there is one?). Our other choice would be to go to Legoland on Monday and do Fantasmic on Friday night, but I really like the idea of being at DL our last night to leave a "lasting impression."

I SO appreciate everyone who contributes to the DIS to answer these crazy questions ... I rely on the "experts" to help out us novices (at DL, anyway!). Help me plan our itinerary ... PLEASE!

By the way, thank you thank you thank you to got2travel for mailing me park maps for both DL and CA - They are wonderful and will help so much in planning our park attacks!

Well, I've never been, but here's my two cents anyway. If the dessert package is reserved seating, why not do it on the busier Saturday night? You won't have to fight the crowds for a viewing spot. And I understand you can stay for fireworks at the earlier seating.

You have a good chance of Fantasmic showing on the Monday night. What better way to end your magical vacation than with Fantasmic? Once the show schedules come out, you can decide for sure. If there's no Fantasmic on Mon, then go for Sat. I wouldn't change around your Legoland plans.

Balcony or riverside really comes down to a personal preference. Mine being that I prefer riverside, you just feel so much closer to the show. (And the kids discount really helps).

You're welcome for the maps. I was happy to do it. I'm thinking of going back in April for my birthday, so let me know if you need anything else.
