Which new restaurant idea would you like to see @ WDW?

Never gonna happen in the Magic Kingdom, it's the only dry park at WDW.

The Disneyland (former) Tom Sawyer island is now Pirate's Lair, so Disney has thought along those lines.

Now there's an interesting idea. Maybe they could use the old Millenium pavilion for cuisines otherwise unrepresented in WDW.

MK needs a Pirate themed restaurant! It would work for both girls and boys.

I would love to see some more authentic foreign food places.

Russia, India, Greece, Spain, Australia, etc..

With that El Pirata y el Perico taking up prime space in the MK I think that would be the perfect spot for a Pirate/Peter Pan meal. Just think Pan, Hook, Smee, Wendy, and maybe Capt. Jack. The place would be an instant success!

Pizza would be doable too. KINGS ISLAND, while not WDW obviously serves LaRosa's pizza, local CINCINNATI pizza and it is DELICIOUS and something we always looked forward to. I don't think WDW has a GREAT PIZZA PLACE and having it a character thing wouldn't be a big deal either. Offer an extensive salad bar and with appetizers, it would work just as any other character meal.

While I liked the CARS movie, playing it over and over for each meal wouldn't make for a unique experience each time and with the Sci-Fi already a theme with cars, wouldn't be that exciting and I can't imagine teenagers sitting and watching that movie and being enthralled sitting in Lightning McQueen.

Of course as I was writing it, I wasnt in full business mode...as far as the "Cars".

McQueen could come on the schreen and talk to the diners. they could show the making of the movie, the movie itself, the characters who play the voices etc... I dont think any diner would be there to see a whole movie even if it was played over and over again...

As for the pizza...Lots of places make pizza, and very well. You add character dining to it and the mobs start coming, you lose the personalized touch and start mass producing..ready made crust, freeze the pizza ahead oif time etc...

Providing characters immediately makes the meal a child-centered experience. Therefore the food provided has to be adjusted to the tastes of the majority of families with young children.

Many children prefer very basic food (cheese or pepperoni pizza) and are not interested in salads. A GREAT pizza place would have to offer far more variety.

Also, I don't think it would be logistically feasible to mix walkaround characters and children racing to meet them with lots of servers carrying hot pizza pans.

I would like the American pavilion at Epcot (or maybe The Land pavilion) feature a signature restaurant that uses all organic food. The food at the American pavilion right now is awful.

I am ashamed that American Walt Disney came up with such a place as Disney World/Land and had visions of Epcot, had a team of incredibly talented imagineers, created an empire where millions of people come each year to visit from all over the world..then show all the foreigners that America has the worst food in the world!!!!!

You are so right..change the American Pavilion to a signature place!! Its a sad day when Americans fight eachother of Canadian food!!!!

And for all the people mentioning Greek..Im right there with you!!!

There are very few signature restaurants inside theme parks. The average person spending time inside a theme park is probably not interested in a signature dining experience. The parks aren't open late enough, for one thing.

The only ones I can think of are Bistro de Paris and Brown Derby. I don't count CRT - that costs two dining plan credits only because it's in the castle, has nothing to do with the food.

I would prefer this to Capt. Jack. I suppose I'm the only female on the planet who thinks he's grungy, nasty, & not the least bit attractive, but he doesn't do it for me at all.

OK, so skip the signature (even though Coral Reef is signature), but at least have a sit down meal in America!!! Yankee Pot Roast / Maine Lobsters / Georgia Peach Pie/ Louisiana Crunch Cake / Mississippi Mud Pie/ Idaho Potatoes/Kentucky Fried Chicken!!! OK, so I havent really traveled the states, but surely Imagineers should know what is popular around the states other than McDonalds.

Now that I think of it that would be the perfect place for all of the other countries not exhibited, like others have mentioned. America is a melting pot...If there is no sit down, this should like a food court of South America/Greece/Spain/India etc...

I thought the same thing until I realized that once you leave Future World (and I may be wrong about this) but once you cross over into the World Showcase, there is no other place on that side to get burgers, fries, etc. Not every family wants bangers and mash, or couscous, or sauerbraten. I do, but some don't. The American Pavilion certainly has space for a TS, however all of WDW provides numerous specialties of American cuisine. World Showcase is to highlight other nations, not our own.
