We cannot decide on an excusion in Nassau. We figured one of the beach excursions was best, but all seem to have their drawbacks (from what I read in the Passporter guide). I am leaning toward Atlantis, but heard there is a lot of walking to the pick-up spot. What have others done in Nassau with a pre-schooler? I have contemplated staying on the ship & having it to ourselves, but I hate to miss an opportunity to play in the sand & surf.

We took the Sunshine Glass Bottom Boat tour with our DDs (6 and 3) and nephew who was 3 1/2. We chose it because we felt that was the easiest to do with young kids. It was OK -- my DD6 LOVES fish so she really liked it. It is a pleasant cruise and you pass a bunch of big beautiful houses that the guide identifies ("On the left, Oprah's house!"). There is a short walk, not too bad. My DD3 had no problem with it. I think, however, if I had the choice again, I would opt for a swimming excursion or just stay on the boat. My kids were dying to swim all the time and the Mickey pool gets crowded and WILD, not in a good way. Parents seem to let their bigger children run wild and my DD3 got caught in the crossfire a lot. She would have preferred swimming in Atlantis. If you're concerned about the walking with young kids, why not bring an inexpensive umbrella stroller?

There's a public beach that's within walking distance of the ship. It's called Western Esplanade and it's just a little bit past the Straw Market. That would give you a little more flexibility for what time you get on and off the ship. The sun is pretty strong, so you may want to go with just a few hours in the morning and return to the ship in time for a nice lunch and nap. I'm not that overwhelmed by Nassau either and you'll have Castaway Cay for playing in the sand.
