Which month is better - June or October?

another vote for October. I did third week in June '04 and the heat plus the crowds made it hard for all of us. But we held up better than a lot of other people we saw. It was unmagical- a lot people were very miserable. I never saw so many adults throwing tantrums in my life- cussing screaming- knocking into people- causing scenes.

I loved October last year and we are doing it again this year.

Thanks everyone!

I think that I will be taking the boys back down in October :thumbsup2 DH doesn't want to do Disney 3 years in a row :sad2: so I'm going to see if my Dad and step-mother want to go. Plus by going in October it frees up June to go back to the Outer Banks :cool1: We will definitely have to do MNSSHP as we  MVMCP!!!

I, too, vote October for the myriad of reasons listed previously in the thread.

Cooler, less crowded, shorter lines and, I think (but an not sure), less expensive (both at the hotels and on DVC points).

I prefer May or June. October can be a lot cooler and even have some very cold nights. June is my perfect time.....golf courses are empty, weather is great....although it's hurricane season the afternoon storms aren't really around until the end of June start of July.

But...when isn't a great time to go to Disney?

June is the month that there is the most rain possible. I wore ponchos everyday of my trip one year.

October. My fave.

October! May-November is hurricane season with August and September being the worst:)

This is no contest. October all the way. Flordia in the summer time is absolutely miserable. Not to mention the fact that almost any time during the summer, crowds increase significantly. When I was a kid, we used to go in October every year. The weather was always really nice (never too hot, never too cold) and the crowds were very, very managable. In fact, it got to the point where we became spoiled if we ever had to wait in a considerable line for anything, because in Oct, there were practically no waits.

The threat of a hurricane in October isn't very high, though it does exist. There's a threat in June, too, so I wouldn't let that factor into your decision.

I've done WDW in both June and October, and I do prefer October! My family goes every year in Oct., and the weather/crowds/etc. are all great! Its cooler in the mornings and evenings, so we just bring sweatshirts with us and tie them around our waists or put them in the rental car when we don't need them. In June, it was very hot and crowded, but my boyfriend and I just spent mornings and evenings in the parks and went back to the hotel in the afternoons when the sun was at its hottest, and we ate, swam, and napped. If you like really warm weather, June is great, but crowds + heat can = crabby people! October is definitely my favorite...perfect! :sunny:

We haven't gone in June so I can't say anything except hot weather, but have visited quite a few times in Oct. Oct. is managable crowdwise and the weather can still be real warm but also managable. The grandkids have been able to swim everyyear in Oct. and the parks have been getting more crowded the past two years but I guess not as full as June. Our vote is for Oct. and you also have the Food and Wine festival to enjoy, yum yum. :sunny:
