Which month is better - June or October?

I'm starting to think about next year's trip (yes I haven't even gotten this years out of the way yet :lmao: ) and I'm wondering when we should go. I love December but I can't help but thinking that I should try a different time of the year. I was thinking of either the first week of June (right after the kids finish school) or mid-October.

Our biggest deciding factor is crowd levels. We like lines as short as possible :teeth:

Any words of wisdom regarding either of these time frames?

Both times would be great. I would suggest June because of the longer days and less chance of hurricanes.

I can only speak from October experience. We went the last week of October and in April. The crowds were lighter in October. We had nice weather both times, although it was warmer in April, we were able to swim everyday of both trips. October does have F&W in Epcot as a bonus. There are no "school holidays" towards the end of October either, some schools may be out in June.

If you are avoiding crowds you will want to avoid June like the plague! I've been both and I will NEVER EVER EVER go to DW in June again! We love October!!!!! :thumbsup2

I have been to WDW in March, June, September, and October and I much prefer October. The weather was great (high 70's to mid 80's) and the crowds were great. No long lines, never got stuck in a huge crowd, and the pool wasn't jam packed. The MNSSHP is also a lot of fun in Sept/Oct.

Read above what mytwotinks said! June is the start of summer tourist season! Jeeze, even the Fast Pass lines are long!

October does hold the chance of a storm, but it's late in the season so that's a reasonable risk. You should try the MNSSHP at least once- check out how some of the families theme their costumes. Get free candy and hot chocolate.

If you have never been to Food & Wine- you have no idea what you are missing! It's our favorite event at WDW!

Check out ... http://pages.prodigy.net/stevesoares/ and click on EPCOT on the tool bar to see what musical groups are there when you are.

Now, read what mytwotinks posted.... again!

October, because Mickeys not so scarey halloween party is going on that month :thumbsup2

June is very hot also since Florida seasonal passes are still good and many Florida schools get out before Memorial Day (which usually is near the first week in June) it is also more crowded. My DH and I enjoy going up in October and have found that even the weekends are not that crowded.

OCTOBER gets our vote, unfortunately the only bad part about it is the hurricane threat and it is a definite active month for tropical activity.

Even if it doesn't impact WDW directly, any major tropical system anywhere in the state of FL could impact WDW indirectly as proved to be the case last year. Many FL residents evacuate to WDW if a storm threatens their area OR if one hits their area they seek refuge (as we did last year) at WDW. Just keep this in mind if planning on going this time (as well as a back-up plan if a storm does hit the area).

We have a knack for timing all of our late summer/fall trips during storm approaches (always seems to happen to us for some strange reason), but we've always been able to reschedule (even if just a few days later).

As far as JUNE goes, I would NOT go back during this time. It is extremely crowded and HOT, the sun is at it's strongest this time. I just can't deal with the crowds and heat at the same time.

October gets a bit busy around Columbus Day but I can tell you it isn't as busy as June.

For me it's not even close, October for sure, nicer, cooler weather, less crowds, Food and Wine festival, halloween events like mnsshp, HHN, HOS.

I passed on a free trip in June because it is so hot and humid....frankly I hate the weather then. Remember you will be outside most of the time. On the other hand October is really nice. It can be warm but not humid as in June. The crowds are lighter.

Hands down October. Check out the food and wine festival and Halloween activities. :cloud9:

We went October 2005 and June 2006. The parks were open longer in June, but the extra time was wasted standing in lines. We loved October, the weather was nice
(except for the day Wilma arrived). Also would love to go back in October to go to MNSSHP. My vote is for October !!

I've gone in June and in October... will never go in June again if at all possible!

Definitely definitely October! The last time we were there in October the weather was very warm and on the humid side (I know, big surprise :) ) but it was great! Hmmmm, maybe I'm just remembering the Food and Wine Festival! ;)

Without even a second thought I'd say October.

Myst

Absolutely without a doubt, October.

There are hardly any hurricanes that I've seen in October. And June would just be far too hot (from the testimonials of family and friends!)

We wouldn't go in any other month than late Sept to mid Oct.

Here are some factors to throw in...Early June, you can attend the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot which includes some good perfomers from the 60s and early 70s. Also, the Star Wars weekends will be going on at MGM. Downside...MGM is a lot more crowded on these weekends...the heat.

October....Food and Wine Festival at Epcot... again some very good performers are at Epcot...we saw the Commodores a couple years back at F&W...Oct will be somewhat cooler..especially the evenings.
We like going in Dec and still find ourselves liking that month best time for us to be at WDW. But it is cool to check out WDW at other times, especially with something special going on.

Bottom line for us...Oct beats June simply because it isnt as hot.

I'd do October rather than June for 3 different reasons. 1. Rainy season is June.
2. Lower crowds as kids are in school. 3. Mickey's Halloween Party!

I've done the beg of October and it is a nice time to go. However, I haven't been to the Halloween party but I know it's very popular!

I am considering going during part of the Colombus day Weekend. Sun-Wed. How bad will the crowds be on Sunday and Monday. Is it like June crowds those days?? I figured Sunday will be very crowded but by Monday afternoon I was hoping maybe the crowds will start to dissipate. Is this so?!

Anyone who has ever been during the Colombus day Weekend who can give some advice would be greatly appreciated.

Our school district has a 3-day Fall Break the last week of October every year.

We take advantage of that break and go to WDW - - we love, love, love going in October!
