Which Moderate

POFQ mainly for its compact size and pool... along with "hopping rights" to POR's pool, and the other amenities (fishing, boating, carriage rides, evening entertainment, boat to dtd, etc)... :flower:

POR for the lush landscaping, good sized food court, wonderful theme pool and the boat to Downtown Disney.

Y'all are making me feel like we made a good choice for next week.........

We have never stayed at a moderate, but the pool at CSR looks awesome!

We're leaning toward POFQ because it is smaller than the other moderate resorts, and we don't want to have to shlep the kids around any more than we have to after a long day in the parks. We've never stayed there before, but the rooms look very nice, and my almost 6yo princess is digging the dragon water slide :cool1:

We have only stayed at POR and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We visited POFQ one day for some legal pool hopping and it seemed nice too but less resort like and more hotel like JMHO. The pool was nice, the kids liked the pools at POR and POFQ evenly. The two resorts share a TS restaurant called Boatwright's which is located at POR. LOVE LOVE LOVE their breakfasts, you can probably find a better dinner elsewhere, but it's decent food not bad just not "great". Our family found the laid back peaceful Tom Sawyer-ish charm of POR to be a great change of pace after a long day at the parks. Bob Jackson the piano man and the boat to DTD are two more bonuses. Good luck with your decision, I'm pretty sure since all the moderates are "Disney" there's something wonderful about each. If you love the beach, try CBR. If you like a Southwest feel, CSR may be your choice. If you love Mardi Gras, check out POFQ. If you adore southern charm, then try our favorite POR.

Although I haven't stayed at a Moderate yet I can say that I have visited a few of them and I have a good idea of where I would like to stay. I would love to stay at Coronado. The resort is beautiful. What I have seen of POR tells me that it is too big. The CM got lost as she was showing us around. That is not a good sign.

Coronado Springs!!
The pool area and slide are great. The whole resort is beautiful. The hammocks are relaxing. The food court food is good. There's a spa. Don't worry about the resort being too large because there is a shuttle service that constantly runs.

I really enjoy the Caribbean Beach Resort. I love the lanscaping, Old Port Royale, the main pool and the quiet pools in each island and I also love the beach areas throughout the resort. There are also activities such as boating and biking.

This is why I want to try all of the resorts! We've been to POR and POFQ, but I want to try the other moderates too! The thing that keeps us going to deluxes for now is that my DH and DS need to get onto their laptops, and I believe that only Coronado Springs has high speed internet availability. We haven't gotten the chance to try this resort yet. I've read that eventually all of the resorts will have it, but I don't know how long it's going to take! I love Mexican food, and I figure that they must have some at the CS food court! :sunny:

CSR all the way for me! Why:
  • it's VERY quiet
  • there's not a lot of screaming kids and children running wild (at least when I've been there)
  • I really feel it has a more mature atmosphere and ambiance
  • This probably doesn't matter to you, but their wheelchair accessiblilty ROCKS
  • I love the theming

THE PROS
No sharing bus service with other resorts
Centrally located with short rides to the parks
Largest hot tub on WDW property
Awesome main pool area with bar, snack bar, playground and kiddie pool
3 quiet pools
New shuttle service eliminates long walks to any of the villages
High speed internet service
WiFi available too
Free use of the gym
Spa
Fridge in the room
Coffeemaker in the room
Iron and ironing board
full room service menu
2 arcades
beautifully landscaped
central air, not a noisey wall unit

THE CONS
Full size beds (kings size beds are available)
one sink

IN THE MIDDLE
The Pepper Market is either a love it or hate it place. We love it but some folks just don't care for it.

Convention resort - some guests don't like seeing other guests at work. Doesn't bother us and helps keep the buses empty. GF, Cont, BW, Y & B Club are also convention resorts.

We stayed at POR and had such a good experience that I can't imagine staying anywhere else. I know that the Deluxes are, well, deluxe and all, but POR was so pretty and peaceful, the pools were wonderful --DH and I would go back there in a split second

:earsgirl:

CSR -- because it has many of the same amenities as a deluxe. The all-day room service (at reasonable prices!!!!) is a big PLUS for me.

CSR would be my first choice. Beautiful resort day or night, great pool area and slide (my kids are older), love the Pepper Market and found it less crowded due to the working convention folks. DH & DS/D would pick it first.

POR would be my second but it is equal to CSR in our positive stays. We have stayed in both themes, kids like AB better. Great resort with relaxed southern charm. Great to come back to after the parks. Will go back.

POFQ we have never stayed but have walked and eaten there. I might stay if CSR & POR were not available, but it really is a very quiet resort, almost too quiet for us. My kids are also way too old for the pool area.

CBR we have stayed and not on our radar to return. I would stay deluxe or value if it were the only moderate resort available.

I've stayed at Coronado Springs and LOVED it! It's the most beautifully themed resort and there are so many places to explore. The food court is delicious, too.

I've also stayed at PO Riverside and it was very nice too (plus much smaller). I was pretty young then, so I don't remember much more than that... Same story with Caribbean Beach. I remember it being pretty, but I was only 7 at the time, so what do I know!

DH and I will be staying at POFQ next May and can't wait. We've heard a ton of wonderful things and are really looking forward to our time there. :)

We love POFQ...very quiet, romantic (we're a young couple with no kids yet), compact....the food court is decent and the bus service is good. That's the only moderate we've ever stayed at so I have no comparison but we do love it there...the boat to Downtown Disney is also very nice!

CSR! It feels like it's the cleanest of the moderates...JMO. But maybe I feel that way because it's the newest.
