Which Moderate

I am trying to decide between Caribbean Beach, POR or Coronodo Springs.
I will have myself, my mother and 2 boys 17 and 18. Is there any of the 3 that you recommend?? Thanks

CSR is my teen DS favorite resort of all. Great food court, beach volleyball, oversized hot tub, large pool with large slide, water amenities, great transportation to go on his own, just a more grown up feel to it.

I have stayed at POR and at CSR. I preferred POR, just liked the landscaping and the boat to DTD. But, if you plan on spending any time at the resort, CSR has a beautiful site, with areas that have white sand and hamocks, that would definitely be great to lounge in. However, when I went, we were in the room to sleep, and that's it. We didn't really have a resort day, we just went to the parks. I liked the rooms in both resorts, they were about the same. Both resorts are spread out, and I think CBR is as well. Whichever you decide, make sure you request a building close to a bus stop, which will save you some walking time!

We stayed at Coronado Springs with a group of 6 and at the Caribbean Beach with just me and my DH.

We preferred CB because of its colorful buildings, beach atmosphere, and shorter walk for our must have morning coffee.
We also were able to see some of the Illuminations fire works from Ecot in the CB parking areas. You are closer to Epcot, thus closer for more transportation options.

However, CS has a larger themed pool area for the kids... and their food court and shop is very nice.

CS is VERY large and has a convention center type of feeling.
CB is more intimate, tropical, and colorful.
Hope you have fun at whichever resort you choose!

My family of four has stayed at the CBR two times and loved it both times. The theming of the resort is carried out everywhere you look.....from the brightly painted buildings to the lush landscaping. There's even an island in the middle of the lake complete with hammocks and picnic tables.

Each village has their own white sandy beach. You can even see the Epcot fireworks from some spots around the lake.

The food court had a nice selection of foods to choose from at all three meals. The kids chicken nugget meal comes in a plastic sand pail which comes in handy down at the beach.

We had no problems with the bus transportation during either stay. There were buses constantly coming and going. Because the CBR is so centrally located, it never takes long to reach any Disney destination.

I think you and your family would thoroughly enjoy a stay at the CBR!

At that age I would think CSR as well

The only other reason is if they want to go to DTD alot (good for that Age ) then the boat from PO is a hugh plus as DTD buses run just god awful.

Coronado Springs is the way to go!! No shared transportation alone is worth it to me. The POFQ pool is too tame for kids of that age.

We have stayed at CBR and PRFQ, but I have not been to CSR. Our first on site resort was CBR and we loved it but the walk from the bus stop can be murderous after a day in the park. The next time we went we decided to try something different so we chose POFQ and my then DS14 fell in love with it. He still wants to go back to POFQ but we have been trying other places and he still likes POFQ!

The thing he liked was the intimacy of the POFQ. We were close to the food court, the only place in WDW that you can get begniets (probably misspelled!), and the bus stop. After CBR our room just seemed so much closer to the bus stop.

We've always stayed at the ol' Dixie Landings resort POR and last year we stayed at CSR. Honestly I love POR more than CSR. There's a feeling of southern hospitality and comfort there that I didn't feel so much at CSR. Plus CSR is so much bigger than POR you felt like an ant in a maze. Plus the pepper market is VERY overpriced while the Riverside Mill court was a little more convienent.

Pools - CSR definitely has a better pool, but POR has the pontoon boats and the bikes that you can rent.

CBR is really the bigger resort, just to compare:

CBR = 2112 rooms spread around an oblong 45 acre lake
CSR = 1921 rooms spread around a round 22 acre lake

15 acre lake at CSR according to buzz's site. It's no comparison. GF, BW, Cont, Y&BC and the Swolphin are all convention resorts but you don't see it mentioned for those resorts. It's just an excuse that some DIS'ers try to use to discredit CSR and it really doesn't interfere with the resort at all. CSR is newer, has more amenities, a better pool and transportation system.

We've been to all three. They are very similar in layout, room size and dining (one counter service, one sit down restaurant).

You should pick the "theme" you like best. Caribbean with bright colors, Southwest with earth tones and stone statues/fountains or Southern early 1900's American with tree branch bed headboard and mirror frames.

The CBR has a gorgeous lake with white sand beaches, hammocks and seven pools (one main, six quiet). It has Parrot Cay island which is just a neat little place to walk across during your time at the resort.

The CSR has a wondeful main pool with refillable mugs poolside. Has a lake too with white sand beaches and hammocks. Single sinks in the room instead of the doubles at the CBR and POR. Very beautiful resort. Does have a unique and delicious restaurant that's different than the others.

POR has two main themed pools and the boat ride to DTD is an attraction all its own. Very nice. The "Fishin' Hole" might be fun for the kids to try. My DD9 loved it.

We loved them all. They've got surrey bikes at each. They've got water mice at all of them to rent along with regular bicycles and sailboats.

Why not do what we did...pick one and then go to another each year you return?

If I was picking, my first choice would be POR, followed by POFQ, CBR, and finally CSR. The reason I picked CSR last is because I am not a huge fan of Spanish architecture, but that changes with each person who votes.

Where ever you choose to stay, you will have a great trip!

I have to agree. I have stayed at PO and CB, and preferred CB. I toured CSR and know people who have stayed there, and they also preferred CB. CB is colorful and cheery, and the beach atmosphere surrounds the place. We had a great time there and I would recommend it to anyone.

Another reason I like the CSR design is that it is really three themes in one, SW city feel with lights and fountains, rancho desert feel with cactus and dry beds, cabana beach feel with sand and hammocks. And of course you have the Mayan temple theme by the pool.

POR does have two themes in one which is nice too, but CBR - all the buildings look the same other than color to me. But it was the first moderate built, and CSR was the most recent. As with anything I think they improve it each time.

Haven't stayed at POR but at POFQ, so I'll just give my opinion on CBR and CSR. CBR was the first disney hotel I ever stayed in and I loved it, nice theme, quite and good food court. We just stayed in CSR earlier this month and it was fabulous. Many complain about the food court b/c of the gratuity but they had tons of choices and great food. Great store/gift shop. he staff at CSR was friendlier than any other resort I have stayed at. Theming was beautiful and the grounds very well kept. CSR is the best bus service we have ever expreienced at disney. Always on time and plenty of buses if we were waiting long at the parks at night or the cue's were full busses would come 2 at a time.

p.s. Staying at POFQ they shared buses w/ POR several times and it was always crowded. POR is also the 2nd stops on that shared bus route and you might end up standing often even during 'slow' times. Don't know if that matters to you but after a week on my feet down there even a 15 min bus ride back can make a difference standing or sitting!
