Hi! I'm trying to decide which moderate resort to stay in. We are going March '06. It will be my husband, myself, and our three children, ages at the time of our trip will be 10, 5, and 1. Which moderate resort would be best? I'm leaning towards Coronado Springs.

We just went last month, and stayed at Coronado Springs for the first time with our DD, she is almost 3. I for one am a big fan now :teeth: We loved the pool, spent a whole day there. It was a lot of fun. Also, we liked the food court Pepper Market. Very convenient if you don't want to eat out. Their restaurant Maya Grill is fabulous. Probably one of the best meals we've had at the World. The resort is big and spread out, but it's beautiful and we loved it. We stayed in Cabanas. They also offer water recreation and bike/surrey bike rentals. The bus service was fantastic. We never waited more than 10 min for a bus. There are a lot of other moderate fans out there, but we just love CSR. You might want to check the resorts board for more info. Good luck! :flower:

I'm interested to hear feedback also. We are a family of 5 and would like to stay on site for our next trip

We loved CSR and I think your kids would enjoy the pool and waterslide. The scenery was really pretty and I was one that thought I wouldn't like the it! :)

I would say it is the more "high end" of the mods, not a deluxe, but like a mod with perks!

If you want to know more about CSR, Buzz2001 has a terrific website dedicated to the resort. He has a lot of pictures and facts about the resort, and if you have questions it's likely that Buzz can answer them if it's about CSR. His site helped me make up my mind about staying there.

Some pics of us at the resort, just to give you an idea of what it's like (and show how much we LOVED it!):

I have stayed at all the moderates and my fav's are Carribean Beach and Coronado Springs. My girls loved the pool and food court at coronado and dh and I thought the themeing was wonderful. Both have bike riding and lots to do for the kids right at the resort. Both have a great food court and pool slide with a nice sit down restaurant.

Having stayed at all the moderates my choice would be carribean beach for the bigger rooms and the availability of reserving a preferred room. I think with three kids you may need the extra space. Its an extra $10.00 IIRC for a preferred location but IMHO well worth it to be by the main building for the amenities and especially the food and pool area.

Both the CSR and CBR are very large resorts and walking from one area to another, esp with kids can be a challenge.

My second choice would be CSR, the rooms are smaller and "close to the food court" is only a request. Also if your close to the food court then you can be quite a ways from the main pool and vise versa.

In short you can't go wrong with any of the moderates but my order would be
CBR
CSR
POR
POFQ

Have a great trip.

I thought that the rooms at CSR & CBR were about 314 square feet (standard guest room) but perhaps I'm mistaken. I didn't hear that CBR rooms were larger than CSR. I actually thought that most of the mod rooms are the same size.

Do you have a link to the room size info? I'd hate to pass along the wrong info to some friends who are looking into a mod. I told them I thought they were all the same size (roughly).TIA!

The CBR rooms are bigger, 340 sq ft vs the all other moderates at 314 sq ft. I found that extra room makes a huge difference. Actually the CBR has as much room as the smaller Deluxe resorts, AKL and WL have 340 sq ft as well.

I don't have a link but since you need to verify this, or if you want more information on the resorts check allearsnet. Deb has in depth information on all the resorts including most of the room sizes.

the only moderate that allows 5 in their regular room is POR - in the AB section.

all the moderates have 2 double beds - the ABsection of POR also has a trundle bed.

however this shouldn't be your problem with your youngest only 1 - it will be 2 years before this is a problem.

I would definitely go with one of the others before you don't have a choice...

I am staying on a quick trip in June at CSR. So I can tell you more when I returned.

It has a great slide!!!
