We got a postcard with a special on moderate resorts......we have stayed at All-Star Movies the last three years because we love it........should we try a moderate, if so which one? We have a year old daughter and want a nice pool and a food court. Thanks!

We stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter this past summer and really liked it! You can use the pool etc. on both sides (Riverside). You can take a boat over to the other side or walk and the boat also will take you to Downtown Disney..food court was very similar to the All Stars with a few variations (and decor) and the pool on the French Quarter side is cool and the other side is as well.

I really love POR! I have stayed there several times (it was Dixie Landings then) and each time it was just wonderful. The grounds are really beautiful, rooms were always immaculate. I prefer Alligator bayou (as opposed to the "mansion side) I really like the rustic, cozy feel. POFQ, also looks really nice, that would be my second choice.
I have also stayed at CSR, it was okay. Our room was very clean, but I just don't think there is anything "special" about this resort.

CBR never appealed to me, the bright colors of the resort strike me as garish. I know some people really love it though, also it has recently been refurbished.
I guess it really depends on what you are looking for, what type of atmosphere/decor appeals to your taste. There is something for everybody!
Hope this helps!

We have stayed at "then" Dixie Landings and CBR. Loved them both. DL will always be our favorite though since it was our first. The grounds and atmosphere at DL was great, and I am sure it hasn't changed much. We have stayed at both the Bayou and the Mansions. Both were well done and themed. CBR was very festive, though the food court and shop was not as good as DL, we liked being able to sit outside and drink one of those great bar concoctions at the end of the night. You can't miss with either of these resorts Enjoy

Well, we've only stayed at one moderate - Dixie Landings (now Port Orleans Riverside). We liked it so much on our first trip that we decided to stay there again the next time we went. The themed pool is great & they do have a small pool area for really little kids like your 1 yr. old. My youngest was 9 months old on our first trip! The boat ride to Downtown Disney was a really nice benefit to staying there too. It was really relaxing & my 2 kids loved it. I would recommend bringing an umbrella stroller - the grounds are beautiful & great for strolling a litttle one. It was also a bit of a walk from our room to the food court, so the stroller came in handy for that too.

We stayed one night at the All Star Music resort on our last trip & personally would choose to stay at POR if I had to choose between the two. The rooms at POR were definately larger & to me it felt a little more like a resort than a hotel. Whatever you choose, I'm sure you'll have a great trip!

I've only stayed at one moderate too, so my vote is for PO-FQ! We just came back from there (me, DH, DS (turned 3 while there), DM and DD, DS, DM-i-L, DF-i-L, DS-I-L) and loved it! They have a very nice food court (great food for all ages!) and a nice pool -- although we didn't get to swim in it because it was a little chilly when we were down there! :(

We were actually scheduled to stay at PO-R but because they weren't able to give us the rooms we had requested (1st floor b/c inlaws cannot do steps too often, and PO-R has no elevator in Bayou which we needed for trundle bed) they found us four rooms together at FQ (with a pack and play).

We loved it -- third floor (with elevator) in building 4 which was right next to the food court and bus stop. Because they pick up FQ first (then Riverside), we were always able to get a seat on the bus (although crowds were light). We also loved the boat to Downtown Disney -- very fun! After seeing how spread out Riverside was, we were glad to have had to switch to FQ as several members in our party didn't want to walk too far at one time.

Although Riverside was very beautiful too, from what we saw when driving past it in the bus! Maybe next time! :D

PO-R is beautiful. CBR I do not care for. I have also heard very good things about Coronado Springs. My understanding is that they have the best pool out of all the mods.

Definitely give a mod a try! You will love it!

We have stayed at all, but CSR.

1. POFQ
2. PO-R
3. CBR

I really liked them all.

Well, POFQ is the smallest of the moderates. Making it easier to get around with a small child. The pool area is nice with a dragon slide and the food court selections were also pretty good.

POR, CBR and CSR are pretty spread out and it you end up in one of the outer sections could be a pain to get around.

Since you have such a young child I would go with POFQ. There is also a nice boat to DTD.

Disnee Dad Says....................................You can not beat DIXIE LANDINGS, we have been there 3 times. CBR is ok. Visited Port Orleans, and the Bayou section of DIXIE LANDINGS, but the manor homes at DIXIE LANDINGS is clearly the best value of the moderates. All Stars were OK, AKL was great, but dollar for dollar, you can not beat DIXIE LANDINGS!!!!!

We just stayed at POR in the bayou section and really liked it. We want to go back and stay in the manions. But we walked down to FQ one morning for breakfast and began to wish we had stayed there! We loved the theming and the smallness and the feel and the littel courtyards and the BEIGNETS!!! French dougnuts with powdered sugar. Yum! I would recommend this one even tho I have never stayed there.

we made late reservations and could not get a moderate
hotel....after one night, I called guest services, told them I HATED ALL STAR...rooms small, not clean and the whole complex was ugly....I dont care if all I do is sleep there and are gone the whole day...after driving 1200 miles, I wanted the Disney experience and all star was NOT IT...THEY got us into port orleans which we have always loved...a few bucks more made the whole trip wonderful.......GO FOR IT....
SPINNER....

We have stayed at all four moderate resorts. Here are our choices from favorite on down.

1) POFQ
2) POR
3) CBR

We would readily stay at any of these three. DH & I did not care for CSR. It was lovely but not for us.

I'm in the same debate, mod or value.I'm curious about POFQ but the All Stars are a good deal

We have stayed at CSR and POFQ (when it was just Port Orleans). While my 10-year-old daughter and I prefer CSR, POFQ may be a better choice with a 1-year-old.
