Which moderate hotel?

Which moderate hotel would you choose for a family of 4 - me, DH, & 2 DDs (about 3 y.o. & 7 months) - our first family trip?
(The only request DH has is a whirlpool).

We love Port Orleans-French Quarter. Why?

Our kids love the serpeant pool. Last time we were there our 3 year old was so excited because he could go down the water slide by himself (with a life jacket.)

Smallest hotel on property.

Relaxing theming and pace. We love the boat ride to downtown Disney. It takes about 20 minutes and is wonderful!

PO has a hot tub (I think all the moderates do!)

There is a nice jogging/walking/biking path the runs between Port Orleans-Riverside and the French Quarter. It is like getting 2 resorts in one. Each has their own unique theming.

Enjoy!

Definitely POFQ with 2 really little ones. It's small, and everything's convenient. The 3yo will love the King Neptune themed pool, and the instrument-playing alligators. You'll love the hot tub and the theming and the convenience. Don't forget to take the boat to DTD. We loved that.

Kungaloosh!
Morticia.

I recommend CBR. The food court area is close to the main pool, there is a beach they can play on.

It's also great for grownups too.

Although POFQ is the one we have never stayed at (only toured), I think for the age your children are it would be the perfect place. The pool area is really cute for the preschool set, close to the food court and I believe the whirlpool is right there. Smaller and quieter hotel that I think is geared nicely for adults only or families with small children. You have the boat to DTD from there and you can share all the amenities at POR & that is a big plus. And I believe it has recently just been renovated.

CSR is one of our favorites, great pool, child's pool is right there and not hidden away, lots of seating, huge whirlpool, food bar is right there and a great open playground for the kids. SW/Tropical feel to me with some beach area. This would be a second choice with your age. It is larger and the lobby/restaurants are around the lake, but certainly not the hiking we had to do at CBR.

Thanks for the advice. I was leaning towards POFQ when I saw the pictures of the pool - i'm glad that people confirmed that POFQ was a nice place for little ones to stay at.

If DH wants a whirlpool FYI the one at CBR has no jets that work. It is basically a very warm tub. Also the Pool is not as warm at WDW during the cooler months. This year the water was much cooler than last year at this time. I was unable to swim in the evening this year while last year the water was so warm I didnt want to get out. I found this at the POP this year also. I was told by the life guard at CBR the pool was cooler because of the hurricane. But I was there before the hurricane and the water was cooler LOL.

Have a great trip!!

Hey Safetymom,

thanks for posting those pics. I had been to wdw with a boyfriend probably 10 years ago and could not for the life of me remember which resort we stayed at.

The pictures of the pool area confirmed it for me. Thanks!

Another vote for POFQ! We are trying it for the first time this December! We have stayed at the WL and OKW the last few years and we are excited about trying something new!

We are staying there for the first time in December too! We've stayed at ASMo, CBR, and CR. Can't wait!!!

my only word of caution about pofq is the theming... if you have a child afraid of clowns (like my ds is! deathly afraid!) then it may not be the place for you... the masks (think mardi gras) that adorn the resort could make it very unpleasant...

otherwise, what everyone else said! LOL! :)
