Which moderate resort is your favourite, we plan to stay at disney for our last week next Oct.

We stayed at POFQ last year after our wedding, dh like's the look of CBR, also what about CSR and POR.

I think I need to look at photo's of all the resorts, maybe that will help us decide.

Where would you stay ? :cloud9:

Thank you. princess:

I have limited mobility so my choices would be CBR because I could book preferred location and know I will be near the main pool and food court .
My other choice would POFQ because it is a small resort and I would also be near the main pool and food court.
Also even though POFQ shares buses with POR POFQ is the first stop.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Disney's resorts have themes.

Maybe you might want to choose the theme that most appeales to your family and try it out.

CBR has the wonderful beach area.

POFQ has the New Orleans look.

POR has the Ab section and the Mansions with the deep south look.

And CSR has the southwest look.
--------------------------------------------------------
Here is my list of the differences-----

Mod vs Mod

'CBR is 340 square feet and the other mods are 314.

They are basically laid out the same but CSR only has 1 sink (the other have 2 sinks.)
CSR does not have a luggage seat.

Here is the layout of POR:

Room size Comparison:

Pop Century/All Stars-260 Square Feet

Caribbean Beach-340 SF
Wilderness Lodge-344 SF
AKL-344 SF
Yacht/Beach-381 SF
Boardwalk-385 SF
Polynesian-409 SF
Contemporary-436 SF
Grand Floridian-about 400-440SF
Ft Wilderness Cabins-504 SF
Family suites at All Star Music -520 SF

POFQ is not as spread out as the other mods or the values.

POR CBR and CSR are very spread out.

The mods have pool slides, a hot tub and a sit down restaurant (POFQ doses not have a sit down restaurant but shares with POR.)

POFQ and POR are concidered sister resorts so they share pools.

When staying at one of these resorts you can use the other resort's pool.
You can also refill your refillable mug at either of the food courts.

Some of the rooms at POR in the AB section have a trundle bed and can sleep 5.

---------------------------------------------------------
Transportation.

CBR has 7 bus stops.
CSR has 4 bus stops.
PO has 5 stops. 1st stop POFQ then 4 stops at POR.
POFQ & POR do have a boat to DTD.

----------------------------------------------------------
Elevators

CBR does not have elevators

CSR has elevators

POFQ has elevators

POR the AB section does not have elevators
POR the Mansions does have elevators

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Have fun at Disney!:wizard:

We have stayed at POR and loved the theming. It is a beautiful resort. We also like the look of CBR and are trying it for the first time in a few days. :thumbsup2 We have also stayed at CSR and although lots of people love it, we did not.

I've been to both POR and CSR and loved both! When we were at POR we were in Alligator Bayou section and it was very pretty. The rooms were nice and cleaned well. The main pool was great. I thought is was super relaxing and felt like I was on a separate vacation after coming home from the parks. I did not love the bus service. It was fair. Seemed to have to wait awhile for the MK buses to come and the buses on the way home did not seem to run as often as the buses I saw for other resorts. But nothing too bad that would prevent me from staying there again. I may stay there again this June. Have stayed at CSR as well and really thought it was great, too. Stayed in Casitas 1x and Cabanas 1x. I loved the Cabanas as it was close to the pool and really like the beach theming. Loved the main building - El Centro. Nice nice-in. Loved to sit outside on Esplanade and have a drink while kiddos watched the alligator in the lake! Rooms did not seem as well cleaned as POR, but again nothing so bad I called anyone about it.

I thought both resorts were so nicely decorated and the theming great at both. I preferred the food court at POR. Pepper Market seems chaotic and big lines with conventioneers. We are going again in November and I wanted to try out something new and had originally signed up for CBR but found someone to rent DVC points from so doing SSR this time instead.

I've also been to WL and can honestly say I like the moderates as much as WL.

Definitely CSR!! No shared transportation, a great main pool area and awesome food choices.

Avoid CSR!!

The WORSE resort out of all the Disney properties

It is nothing but convention going guys that hang around the pool hitting on the women and being rude and obnoxious.

The food court is horrible, the layout is huge and the staff treats non convention folks as 2nd class citizens

Couple that with a huge un-disney feel and you just wasted your vacation dollars..

We stayed at other mods (along with Cabins, not sure where you "rank" them) and loved our time there. We are very pro-disney, but anti CSR..

Trust me, you got a few folks here that spam their web sites about CSR, but there is a reason why many others give it negative feeback..

when it comes to mods, think about POR (FQ is nice by all accounts). We did POR and loved it. We are going to FQ for first time in Jan 08 so let you know then..

The best part about WDW is that there are many styles of resorts for everyone. Not everyone likes every resort.

The best part of the DIS is that we can all share our opinions about resorts. Just because someone does not like a resort means that everyone should avoid it.

The best advise is to listen to the opinions and they make your own decision.

We've been to both CSR and CBR and really enjoyed them both. We did not like the food court at CSR, but many others love it. Our favorite of the two was CBR - the theming just appealed to us more - a truly beautiful resort.

I don't think you can go wrong - have a great trip!

We prefer CSR. Our kids love the playground and the main pool. It's hard to get them to leave and go to the parks. The slide is great for all ages. We didn't have any issues with convention guests. They actually seem to make the pool and buses less crowded. I think CSR would be the best for a honeymoom because it not overwhelmed with kids.

I liked staying at POFQ last year, but this time we are going to try POR. I think I like the theming there more than Mardi Gras. That is just me though. Can tell you more after I go in a little over 2 weeks. YEAH!

We've stayed at POR and CSR, the buses are better at CSR but overall we prefered POR :)

Definitely CSR! Stayed there over the summer and already rebooked for next year.

We have stayed at POR and CSR. They are both lovely resorts, but I would give the edge to CSR. The Casitas section is so beautiful at night. Love the way the fountains and palm trees are illuminated. We are going back for our third visit to CSR on Friday. Woo hoo! :cool1:

FQ is beautiful. There is a restaurant .....skat kat's lounge (you can order food there)...and they do have their own pool!

I've heard that if you want to DINE-IN at the CSR food court, 10% (+/-) is automatically added to your bill for grautity. CBR has a regular food court. I wouldn't want to pay the extra money to dine in at CSR. That was our biggest motivating factor to AVOID CSR and try CBR.

Love CSR!! Beautiful, quiet, relaxing resort with excellent bus service. Great food at The Pepper Market (not sure if it's on the list for 2008 DDP- if you are on the DDP, the 10% doesn't impact you). Great pools, spa.

Where ever you choose to stay, have a great trip!:thumbsup2

CSR!! Check out my CSR website below for pics and info. Perfect for your anniversary. Very romantic!

We have stayed at the CSR numerous times and have NEVER had a conventioner hitting on me (must be I'm not good looking enough!). We had trouble at the Pepper Market one time...our first visit. It was explained to us in simple terms and we never had problems with it again. We have never had the CM's treat us like second class citizens, next to the conventioneers. In fact, we never even realize there is a convention going on. Suprisingly, when we do see people walking to an obvious convention meeting, they are very friendly and say hello just like all us "regular" guests. We certainly do not feel we are wasting our vacation dollars. We were actually thinking of trying the Port Orleans Riverside on an upcoming visit. That was until we went there for dinner on our recent trip and had a lousy meal and the entire place was so noisy you couldn't hear yourself think (between the noise in the walkways, the piano player right near the restaurant and everything else going on). But as I have said in previous posts, it is all a matter of opinion. After being at the parks all day with thousands and thousands of people, we enjoy the quiet of the CSR. I don't need Disney at my hotel...I'm there to swim and sleep.

We've stayed at both. Prefer PO Riverside over CSR. Rooms were on par with each other, but CSR is very spread out. Unlike many of the others who've posted, I liked the food court at CSR better--food was fresher. The theme-ing at PO, whether you stay in the Mansion, FQ or Riverside, was wonderful and we loved being so near to our car, food court, boat transport, etc.
