I'm trying to get stays at all of the moderates and deluxe resorts at WDW just because:-)! So far Polynesian (loved it!), CSR (loved it!), Beach Club (Not!), Boardwalk Inn (loved it!) and this December I'll be staying at AKL Jambo House--in a villa, which I normally wouldn't do as part of my quest, but since it's Jambo House, I'm still counting as one of the regular Deluxe Resorts. The only reason I'm able to do any of the villas is that a friend of mine gave me all of her DVC points this year--crazy girl! That leaves WL, CR, GF, POR, POFQ, YC, and CBR. I was thinking split stay (4 nights each) in April at POR and POFQ--I thought it would be very picturesque during the Spring with all the blooms at PO. Then, in December (I want to start going at least every December to WDW), I would stay at WL for the week since they have really great holiday decorations. Of all the resorts I have yet to stay at, the hardest for me to justify is GF--I would love to have a stay, but always seems just too many $$$ for little 'ol me. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks in advance for your opinions!:D

We stayed at GF this year and thought it was awesome. If you go in August you can get a really go discount for GF. It is a travel agency and I cannot mention it on here but is about 50% off with discounted tickets. Why didn't you like BC? It was my plan to try BC next.

When I stayed at the BC, the room they assigned had a great view and the room was very large, but it was really worn--carpet, furniture--one leg on the chair was broken. For as much money as you pay to stay at a Disney resort, this should never be acceptable--they should always be on top of these things. Also, the resort is really long and just to get anything from the restaurants or store or front desk was a really long walk (and I'm a walker believe me). On the plus, my room was really close to the exit and walkway to EPCOT WS. I guess it's just trade offs. I don't know if it will stop me from staying at BC again. I think I'll just make sure to check the most recent renovations on the resorts before I go. Regarding GF, it's really hard for me to go in the Summer--I don't handle that humidity well. It would be fine if I was just going to stay in the room and A/C, but walking around the parks would just be miserable for me. I think the only time I've been to Disney in July, August or September have been for conferences and so I was inside for most of the day and was okay. Maybe that's also why I didn't enjoy BC because it was quite hot when I was there in early June. Oh well, I guess I'll keep an eye out for GF discounts in future--hopefully in Winter and Spring. Thanks for the tip!

I believe they have recently renovated the rooms at the Beach Club Resort (not the villas) including replacing the furniture and carpet and the bathrooms. I am with you on the heat in the summer. We have traveled in November, June and February. Even though I live in Georgia the heat at WDW on our June trip was almost unbearable. It was so humid. Our winter trips were the best. The biggest drawback to the BC is the lack of quick service meal options and the long bus rides to MK and AK but I did love being close to Epcot an HS. We have stayed at AKV, OKW, BCV, and AOA cars suite. If we take a vote my DD's favorite is AOA, mine is BC for theming and my DH is AKV kindani. AOA was the easiest for size, ease of transportation, and quick service options. We are planning a trip now- I looked at our plans and I believe an Epcot resort makes the most sense for our plans. But if a special offer comes available for AOA we are in. I would love to stay at POR riverside one day. It seems serene.

If you haven't stayed at WL...........do it soon, because construction is about to overtake that resort  WL is our "home" resort but not during massive construction >:( As for GF.........I feel ya! I don't know that this meets your guidelines but renting DVC points can really cut into the cost of staying at resorts. We're doing that for the BWV in January.

No matter what you choose, its Disney!!!!pixiedust:

That's right. No matter what complaints I hear or what complaints I have about it from time to time, it's still Disney--that's why I will never rule out trying BC again. That is, after I've stayed at all of the other Mods and Delx.
