DH and I will be at the Magic Kingdom on our anniversary in July. We'll be having Tonga Toast for breakfast at the Kona Cafe at the Polynesian resort, and having dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table for dinner that night. Now I need to find a place for lunch at the MK.

I've looked through the menus and these 3 restaurants seem to have the selections that I know DH and I would like. If you really like someplace that's not on the list, please post and tell me. Thanks! :)

LTT has a fantastic lunch menu, now if they would only serve breakfast. The chef there made a spectacular breakfast while we were attending a special event at MK.

Since you are there for your aniversary, why eat at a counter service restaurant? Granted, Columbia Harbour House is one of the best, but...

Plaza Restaurant is good, if you want burgers, sandwiches and shakes.

But for atmosphere and a good filling lunch, you've got to go to Liberty Tree Tavern. The lunch menu is wonderful, the service is good and the atmosphere is great!

I included some counter service restaurants because we'll be having a fairly large breakfast and a large dinner on that day. It won't hurt us to have a lighter lunch! :earboy2:

So far LTT is winning! That might end up being the best choice because I assume it's indoors and airconditioned, and with DH having diabetes, he can't take too much heat or humidity at a time. I almost "lost" him on a sidewalk in Bermuda a couple of years ago! :earseek:

I voted for Plaza. Granted I have not eaten at LTT yet (it's on my list) but based on your great breakfast and dinner choices I chose Plaza Restaurant because it's nice and light. DH and I always split a sandwich and he gets a cup of soup if he's hungrier than I. The atmosphere is great. It's relaxing and very charming.

I agree with your idea about eating a lighter lunch, which is why I chose Columbia House. It is also air conditioned and a very comfortable place to eat. With the other 2 restaurants you've chosen for the day, I think the counter service would be a nice break, and the food is good at Columbia.

Another vote for The Plaza. All of the restaurants you listed are indoors and are air conditioned, so don't let that be a factor. I really like Columbia House and Liberty Tree Tavern too, but based on your other choices for the day, I'd go with The Plaza. Splurge on a big ice cream dessert! :flower1:

I voted for LTT. I had the Colony Salad there, and it was out of this world.

Ditto Tykes reply.

Plaza is cute. DD and I have soup and split sandwich.

I like LTT too, but their food is pretty filling.

DD just celerated her birthday yesterday at CRT for lunch and had the fancy pot pie, which she really liked.

herc.

Can I go off the poll? ;) Since you are having 2 big meals that day, I know I wouldnt want to have a "lunch". We once had Tonga Toast for breakfast before boarding the Wonder. We never made it to the embarkation buffet as we were still stuffed 5 hours later. But, since you will be in the MK, my choice would be to stop by the Ice Cream Parlor for a midday snack.

I voted for LTT because aside from the food - which I think is good - it is a nice break in the middle of the day. Every time we have ever eaten here for lunch, we feel re-energized! JMO - Enjoy! :D

I vote none of the above. I doubt you will be very hungry for lunch with a big breakfast and dinner that day. A snack to hold you guys over should suffice.

I ate a hamburger at the Plaza this last Sunday at lunch. I surprised to be crunching on bone and gristle a few times.
I can't say I would ever order a hamburger there again. Even Pecos Bill's is better. And that isn't saying much.

For a lighter lunch I would choose Harbour House. (Their salad is very good.) With the diabetes concern, I might lean towards LTT. Although that will be too much food.

The Plaza has nice salads. I would definitely eat a light lunch after Tonga Toast and an upcoming dinner at CRT. You could also get a nice caesar salad or veggie chili at Columbia Harbour House, but Plaza has a much better atmosphere.
