Doing the Basic DDP in Sept. We have one 1 too many ADR's and can not figure out which one to drop so therefore thinking about just paying for 1 meal OOP.
If you were paying out of Pocket for 2 adults and 2 children (6,8) which would you choose
Crystal Palace lunch
Norway Storybook princess breakfast
1900 Park Faire Breakfast
1900 Park Fair dinner
Ohanas Dinner
Sci Fi lunch
Chef Mickets dinner

Thanks in advance!

Probably the breakfast. Check out the menus on the DIS or an allears, and you can kind of figure out what your family would order from the menus at the non-buffets.

I glanced at your list and IMMEDIATELY knew....pay OOP for Sci Fi Lunch.

Sci fi lunch typically runs 10.99-12.99 per actual meal (burger/fries, sandwich/fries), add in sodas and/or milkshakes and you are barely at 20 bucks if even at all for 1 adult to eat there.

I agree with the previous poster, the Sci Fi lunch. The portions are big and you can share. You don't have to have an appettizer or desert if you don't want it. This could easily be an affordable meal of oop.

Sci Fi lunch. Our OOP lunch at a resort TS location was less than $50 with tax and tip. None of the other meals you have listed will be less than that.

Oh and in case you didn't know- your kids don't have to order the "full" meal when you pay OOP at a la carte meals. You could order just a hamburger or hot dog w/o the salad or soup and dessert if that's what you want to do. It wouldn't be $7.50 for each kid then...more like $8 for both of them if they each got a burger.

Sci-Fi is the one that we are paying OOP. I can't justify the usage of a TS credit here. I just worry that they will eventually prohibit you from ordering the burger and fries for dinner some day.

:confused3 They allow you to order from the lunch menu at dinner?

Thats what I've read here and what I am planning on doing in September during free dining, but paying OOP. (ordering a burger and fries from the lunch menu)

there are two schools of thought on which meal to pay oop for... most say "the cheapest" but i typically advise people to consider paying for their last meal oop because you never know what can happen, you can decide to skip a meal later in the trip, illness, exhaustion, hurricane, etc and by using your credits as you go, saving the last meal for oop, you can be assured that you won't leave any unused credits behind...

now, that being said, if my last meal were coral reef or le cellier (for instance) i'd probably pay oop for my latest in the trip "least expensive" meal... or plan my trip so that sci fi (for example) is on one of my last days... i would not go oop early on in the vacation...

whatever you decide, ENJOY! :)
