We just got an upgrade to the Poly, and now we HAVE to have a meal at Kona!

We have one off/lazy day, so we can schedule any meal at Kona that day (assuming I can get us in.) I'm debating a late breakfast, early lunch, or very early dinner (say 4pm) as we have MNSSHP that night.

Also, my girls are 3 and 6. Not only are the picky eaters, but the 6 year old has a peanut allergy. Since Kona has an Asian influence, this does concern me. I know we can speak to the chef and we already have her allergy mentioned on all ADRs.

So, what meal shall we try? :thumbsup2

All of my kids (6,4,2) have egg and peanut allergies. The Chef at Kona has always been wonderful. They will make sure to have dishes for you that do not contain peanuts etc. You can call ahead and talk to them and let them know and then the Chef will come to your table. They will do this at ALL restaurants on property, even walk you through buffets and let you know about all foods. At times, they have made special dishes for my kids that arent necessarily on the menu. Its wonderful!!!

So, I think it depends on the extent of the allergies. My kids are ok as long as they dont eat anything with eggs or nuts, just being around them, they are ok.

We appreciate WDW so much. Its really made our experience GREAT and we appreciate not having to worry about them not getting to eat at the great places we love.

We have a large section related to dietary allergies in the disABILITIES Forum is Post #3 of the disABILITIES FAQs. You can get to them directly by foillowing the link in my signature.

Thanks for your advice. We have the peanut allergy well in hand. We had a wonderful experience dealing with this on our last trip.

The more important question - which meal is the yummiest!? :lmao: I've decided against dinner. I don't want to waste precious time on a MNSSHP night. So, now I'm debating a late breakfast or an early lunch. We'll be just hanging around the Poly that day, resting and relaxing before our big night.

I'd choose breakfast over lunch... hmm... maybe not... maybe lunch over breakfast?? :confused3 hahah, just kidding. :) But seriously, I LOVE the Kona Cafe, and enjoy all 3 meals there.

I'd suggest booking a late, leisurely breakfast. You can have 100% Kona coffee (served in a French press pot), or a cup of Kona Blend coffee. You can try MY favorite breakfast entree' which is the pineapple macadamia nut pancakes, or my DH's favorite, the Tonga Toast...or the outstanding blueberry pancakes!

Here are some pictures for your enjoyment... LOL

In case you want something with fewer carbs, here is "Two Eggs Your Way"; we ordered them poached, with dry wheat toast:

You're welcome! LOL

P.S. My DH was walking past my desk before while I was posting them and he said "Why are you torturing yourself looking at those??"

Go for the Tonga Toast! It is the most wonderful thing you will ever eat for breakfast!

On our 1st trip to Disney 4 years ago the nice person that checked us into the Contemporary recommended it and we have been back SEVERAL times just for that meal!!!!
