Alot of you rave about Maclaren, but which model? I noticed that the volo is the lightest and the cheapest, but it is worth it to spend more on the other models? Please advise!

I just purchased the Techno Classic model - it's absolutely perfect for me !! I have a 1 1/2 yo DGrD who is a big girl and my cheaper umbrella stroller was getting difficult to maneuver with her in it and it was getting a bit small for her. I wanted an umbrella-type stroller (folds easily) that was still large enough to have all the extra features - 4 seat positions that fully reclines (so it can be used for the next DGrWhatever infant that comes along :goodvibes ), large sun shield with see through window on top, adjustable handle length for very tall DH, custom-fit rain shield. It has a decent-sized bottom basket and a built-in pocket on the back - I also bought the net/cup/bottle holder attachment and it's really nice, too. I went to BRUS and checked out the Volo and Quest - both very nice, but I wanted to use this for infants as well as toddlers, so the Techno was best for me. These strollers move like "butta"! I was having fun just spinning it in circles in the kitchen - too bad we had a blizzard this week when I had DGrD - I can't wait to take her out in this thing - we walk the boardwalk a lot and now she'll enjoy a smoother, comfier ride ! :smooth:

Many thanks to all on the DIS who recommended the Mac!

I bought the Triumph last year. Mostly b/c my daughter was almost 3 and was quickly out growing the weight limit on most other strollers, but since she was 3 she doesn't exclusively ride in a stroller. I picked the Triumph over the Volo, b/c of the seat, the basket and sun shade. Than I puchased the organizer seperate that has drink holders and another mesh "bag".

Love my Mac. If we ever have another child I will get a nicer model. Just so you know, if you want a 55lb weight limit, you need to buy a 2004 model, the older models don't have that weight limit.

thanks for the info. Here's my situation: I own a big bulky double stroller (front & back type) and then have a cheaper type by graco, which is much better than a cheapo umbrella stroller, but is pretty basic. I'm thinking about getting rid of the double and replacing it with a maclaren. I have 3 kids, ages are: DS 4.5, DD 2.5 and baby DD 2mo. n the past we've only used the double a handful of times and DD 2.5 is not generally the stroller type and DS 4.5 hasn't ridden in a stroller for over a year now. This is what I was thinking for our trip to Disney in Sept:
We would bring the maclaren with us (we're drivin down) and then rent a sit n stand from abbf. That way we'll have "seats" for everyone, but not over do it. Pretty much after Disney, the maclaren will be for the baby. Any thoughts?

I say buy the Mac for the baby and maybe invest in one of the nicer models, they are all pricey, but with the baby being so young you will get some use out of it. If you are renting a stroller down there anyway, I'd just rent from the parks, depending on how bulky the sit and stand one is, it may be a pain to get that, the Mac and 3 kids on/off buses and/or trams. The older two make like the rental ones better anyway. Just my .02

I like that idea, except that we'll be staying at boardwalk for part of our trip and I picture us doing quite a bit of walking around there and getting to the parks and we plan on doing seaworld and possibly universal...

BTW, I'm in Berwick-what town are u in?

I would at least purchase the Quest if not the Techno. I have the quest for my youngest but she is 22 mos. I liked it because of the reclining seat. I have the volo for my older dd who is 4. It works fine for her, she didn't need a reclining seat. These strollers are great. I took both of mine to Disney this past Dec.

anyone know if maclaren has a web site so I can ck out all the specs?
thanks

We bought the Quest specifically for our trip because I knew that my 4 yr old (43" and 41 lbs) would want to ride in it as well sometimes-it is the only stroller I've ever owned that will ride so easily with her in it! Usually she's too heavy for most strollers! Just wish I'd found it years before to get more use!! At least my 2 yr old (27 lbs) will get some more use out of it at this point! I LOVE this stroller!!! It only weight 10.5 lbs and folds up nice and compact! Can't say enough wonderful things about it!!!

I have an '05 Quest and Volo. The Quest is for the baby and the volo for the three year old. I skipped the Triumph because of how shallow the seat is.

I love our quest, it has enough features without being bulky. I found a clip on sun shade for $6.99 at Babies R Us that makes it perfect!

We have a Volo and I LOVE it!

The only thing that I wish it had was the ability to lean back for napping.

TEchno XT here and I love it
Check out the 2004 fabrics they are deeply reduced right now in the stores and online

Hi Neighbor, I figured you must be pretty close. Are ya ready for another nor-easter? :sad2: Will this winter ever end?

Anyone have the maclaren global buggy? Just wondering how it is, because I love the fact that it can accommodate most baby car seats. Does it fold up small like some of the other models? Ride well? easy to carry? It had mixed reviews on Amazon's Babies r us site....

I got the Quest for our now 3 yr old son a few months ago. It was great at WDW and wish Id found it 3 strollers ago! I went with the Quest for the recline, sunshade, etc since we were trying for #2 (just found out its a girl due in July) so it was well worth the $$.

UGH!!! Not another nor-eastern, I swear we will still have snow on the ground when we go to Disney in May.

As for the stroller you are looking at, I haven't heard of it, but Maclaren is known for nice compact strollers, so it will definatly be lighter than most other strollers.
