Which machine do you recommend?

I am new to the cutting machine world! I have a Cricut that a friend gave me to play with and learn. It is an Expression and came with the Design Studio. I am able to use it easily and make cute things. I really enjoy making stuff with vinyl stick on letters and such.

However, I have a new Mac and would like to be able to take images off of my computer and convert them and add them to my cutting library, as well as use any fonts I find that I like online. As you all know, the Cricut people are not allowing that and especially not Mac friendly from what I've read lately.

So, if I plan on buying my own machine soon, what machine and softwares do you recommend? I've seen several listed on Sir Cuts Alot's website and Make the Cut. I like the eCraft just from what I've seen/read on their website. I don't want to spend a fortune but I would like a good machine that enables me to use Sir Cuts Alot or Make the Cut or the like. Any advice is greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!:thumbsup2

I can say that I love SCAL2 but since I have the 2 I still use my cricut
I know there is suppose to be some new machine designs coming out before Christmas so I'm kinda waiting on those & hoping to save some money to get a new one soon myself

The eCraft Cutter is now shipping at ScrapbookPal.com. I haven't tried it, but it's about the same price as a new Expression, works with SCAL and doesn't use MATS! So, fewer consumables. You can also find info and reviews at SVGCuts.com of a couple other machines.

Jennifer
