For our upcoming May trip with kids ages 10, 12 and 14, we are planning two MK lunches, and like sit down to get out of the crowds. We gave narrowed our choices to Skipper Canteen, Whispering Canyon, and Be Our Guest, all of which would be new for us. (The Plaza is also in the running, but mostly for the milkshakes, and we have been there.) Which would you choose? Looking for unique experiences we can't get outside of WDW. (Food looks better at WC and SC, but have always wanted to see BOG ... ) Also, we have reservations at WC and SC already, BOG is harder but the TP res finder has been working well for some other needs...

What about LTT? LTT is my favorite MK restaurant and they offer an a la carte lunch. BOG would be my second choice, we loved their Croque Monsieur sandwich. I've never heard many good reviews about SC.

We ate at the plaza in December and found it wasn't as good as it had been in years past.

My boys loved BOG! They liked being in a castle (lol), and loved their meals. My youngest (10 at the time) had the kid’s braised pork and still says it was one of the best meals he’s ever had.

Of your choices, Sklppers and BOG for me...but like a PP, I love LTT for lunch.

Also wouldn't take the time to go to WCC for lunch. I've been to BOG for lunch a few times, it fine but I'm over it a little. Haven't tried Skippers Canteen yet but would really like to give it a try. I'm a big fan of the Plaza and LTT (lunch only).

Thanks for the responses. WCC just seems so much more unique than LTT. We went to LTT five years ago, so have been there - unless maybe something has changed. We did really like the dessert at LTT, but otherwise just thought it was fine. Was thinking that the boat ride to WCC would be fun and my middle son really wants to see the resort. I just wish you could still do day of cancellations! I am not 100% sure how we will feel on our actually MK day, though I thought we might be ready for a break for a late breakfast or early lunch after getting to the park for morning EMH.

I think we will keep Skippers - kids love the photos of it and most of us think the menu looks great. We're not loving the BOG lunch menu, so maybe that's out....

If you don’t mind a quick travel to the Contemporary, The Wave has a good lunch. We ate there last year for lunch and it was great. I had a chicken sandwich and DH had a burger that were really good.

Another vote for Skippers. Good food and our server was fun.
BoG, I can take or leave. If your kids want to do it, I would. The beast is out only for Dinner.
We don't leave the park for lunch as it takes too much time.
LTT is another good choice for lunch.
While not TS, Pecos Bills and Columbia Harbour House (the updstairs is not usually crowded) are other good options if you want to consider QS. You can order online for both so you don't have to wait in line.

My vote is for Whispering Canyon, the food is excellent and the way everyone acts there is great. I have mentioned before but on our last trip I made the mistake of drinking my diet coke within 5 minutes. They brought me out another diet coke, It was huge easily 6 ot 7 diet cokes in one big mason type jar. And Wilderness Lodge is only one short boar ride from MK and its a good way to break up your day and plan your after lunch activities.

While the boat ride to WL to go to WCC is kind of fun, it is quite a lengthy trip to go back and forth during the middle of your MK day. If you're going to leave the park, I'd suggest staying to the monorail resort options (Kona Cafe at Poly, Grand Floridian Cafe at GF, The Wave at the Contemporary) or an in-park option (BOG, Skippers, LTT, or Plaza).

Personally, I'd go to LTT.

We went to LTT five years ago, so have been there - unless maybe something has changed. We did really like the dessert at LTT, but otherwise just thought it was fine.

Just FYI, the lunch is now A La Carte with more than the all-you-care-to-eat offering. They have salads, pasta, pot roast, etc. for lunch. Also, the dessert is now an Ooey Gooey Toffee cake, not the cobbler it was for ages, but for lunch a seasonal fruit cobbler is also available.

Having stayed at monorail hotels in the past there is nowhere I've eaten lunch at MK with the exception of Tortuga Inn/Tavern for the smoked turkey leg. Bought 2, salad from the Liberty Sq Market and chowed down. Rest of the time when hungry we've eaten at the monorail resorts. Loved the A/C and varieties offered.

Skippers is our new favorite sit down @ MK.....the food, service and decor were all great
Been hearing a lot of good about this eatery and if time or hunger presents itself it'll be our first choice at that park:). .
